The continuing hate on Baylor is perhaps understandable but that team was a joy to watch.
As much as I dislike their program, I like Drew. I'm happy the guy is having success just wish it was at any other program.I'm still puking in my mouth a little over Baylor winning a Natty.
We gotta long hill to climb and don't know if Otz will get it done, but I do believe we'll have a lot of fun trying.

Regarding Otz, the dudes words have matched his actions so far. He says a lot of the right things, the question is, will his actions follow that? So far, it appears they will. I love the energy he brings and the adapt or die mind-set. He may take his lumps learning the ropes, but at the same time, I'm glad he's coached quite a bit before he got here so he learned many lessons elsewhere.
His hire scared me a little bit at first, but he is surrounded by successful people and they seem to like him. That's a very good sign. Success creates success.

"Fortunately for Cyclones fans, Otzelberger has plenty of experience in that department -- he was an assistant at Iowa State for eight years, four of those coming under Hoiberg."Not seeing the love for ISU in the article?
It was a weird quick hire
I've almost never seen a team look so dominant in the Final Four. It was something to marvel at.. Drew is damn good. North Carolina may regret not making a run for him.I'm still puking in my mouth a little over Baylor winning a Natty.

I did. I guess we just disagree on what “love” is. I don’t think it’s a section that mentions “the other new coaches” and then gives them the writer’s blueprint for success."Fortunately for Cyclones fans, Otzelberger has plenty of experience in that department -- he was an assistant at Iowa State for eight years, four of those coming under Hoiberg."
"Otzelberger already knows what to do, as Jeff says, and will identify top players and promote the rowdy atmosphere on the team's home floor and its great facilities."
Uhhhhh,.....did you read it?
I had read that information on UNLV boards as well. But remember, SDSU was his first gig. Lots of things can change in a short period of time when you have an intelligent person running the ship.I thought it was interesting that when Peterson and Hines had the Vegas sportswriter on, he said TJ was good at XO and struggled some recruiting. That’s kind of the opposite of our concerns. I think his recruiting has been really good. XOs I think is yet to be determined because his best years at SDSU he had by far the best player on the court most games.

I often recall a Phil Mickelson quote about changing things up on a golf course when you're not hitting it well. He said you change small things out there, you don't just wait for the driving range. That's how the greats do it. They tinker constantly. We are seeing it with Campbell, I hope we see it with TJ. It can be frustrating at times, but you gotta suffer before you get to where you want to be.

Nick Nurse says Xs & Os is about 10% of successful coaching. He seems to know something about successful coaching. Yeah I’m not reading that. I do agree that actual Xs and Os is a small part. The bigger part is overall scheme, recruiting to that scheme, and getting players to buy into roles.
