ESPN Full Court

I've never really understood why CTN only covers conference games. Is there some sort of rule causing that, or is it solely Mediacom paying a lot of money for them?

If ISU was good enough to have all of its league games selected either nationally or regionally, then CTN wouldn't have to use its allotment on conference games.

Ah, that makes sense. So the trick is to force ESPN to pick up more games next year.

Re: Explanation from ISU Athletic Dept.

I live in Colorado, so maybe FC is still worth getting. I"ll mull it over.

Thanks for all the homework you did on this.

I'm in the same boat as I live in MN, but I believe all games on FC are also on ESPN3.com, so I may choose to invest in equipment to hook my laptop up to my TV instead of buying a FC subscription this year.

Edit: Anyone know the highest quality approach to hooking up a laptop to a T.V? Best equipment to use...? I would guess some kind of HDMI converter from the laptop to the t.v. would be best, but not positive....

Edit 2: I discovered this helpful video on youtube for connection a computer to a t.v. in case anyone else needs it.

If you look at the schedule, most games starting with the Iowa game on 12/9 are on FC. So that is at a minimum 12 games on FC.

How to connect a TV to computer, HDTV to PC or laptop - YouTube

Older laptops have a VGA output, newer laptops have HDMI. If you have a newer laptop you could just do HDMI directly to the back of the TV and you would have both audio and video. If you have a laptop that has a VGA input then there are a couple of things you could do:

- If your TV has a VGA input, you could do VGA-to-VGA and get a picture comparable to 720p - this does not give you any audio

- If your TV doesn't have a VGA input, you could purchase a VGA-to-Component adapter. Component = red, green, and blue video cables. This would allow you to get a picture close to 720p/1080i. This does not get your audio either.

- For audio, it would be easiest to purchase a stereo mini-to-stereo RCA adapter. This would allow you connect to the headphone/speaker input on the computer and connect the RCA cables (red & white cables) to the audio input on the back of your TV or receiver.

what sucks is for conference play, big 12 network is affilated with 1 station for every single midwestern city except for chicago

At least with this mediacom blackout, not too many people saw the Drake game. It looks like the season starts in Dec for me. Clonezone isn't an option. Maybe all will be well by then. :)

Until then, I can scout the rest of the league as there have been many other Big12 games on.
