Enough negativity. Let's have some fun.

This, 100x this.

Homan pretty much single-handedly kept Stinson and Blalock in check his senior year and we made the NCAA tournament. The next year when he was gone those guys went crazy, we didn't go anywhere and Wayne got fired.

Aside from what he contributed on the court I feel we have a couple guys this year who could benefit from a little Homan "tough love" in practice/off the court.

I think Homan would be great. Obviously anyone with their jersey retired would make the team better, but this team doesn't need a star, it's Georges team, it needs some quality role players.

Kane because of his ability to close out/take over games

Agree Kane would be excellent for this reason.

Seems to be pretty general thought process in this thread that this team needs someone that can be a huge leader and take over games/motivate teammates and bring out everyones best.

I wonder why Georges doesn't seem to be that piece on this team.

Hornacek might be my favorite ISU player of all time but, although he was a very good shooter, he wasn't a dead eye shooter. He was a way better shooter in the pros. Off of the top of my head, I'd say Hoiberg, Jake, Tyus, Naz and Michael Nunn were probably better shooters than him. For all-around guard play, I'd certainly go with Hornacek though.

Also, nice thread. I think we all kind of needed this. It's a bit like when Crash Davis started the sprinklers to create the rain postponement.

The former boxer from Davenport?

It's Fizer. Always. Rebounding, scoring, and toughness inside. Case could be made for Cato with this particular team.

Shawn Bankhead

Confidence, Energy and toughness just what the Doctor ordered for this team right now.

Exactly why I started this thread. To bring up some blasts from the pasts that aren't necessarily everyday names.

I said this while watching the other night that we need a Homan type of player.

We need length and muscle. We don't have a player with both. And a badass, which we're extremely lacking at the moment as well.

For a long time I thought "Fizer"......but then I thought of Tyrus McGee. We need a bomber, a no-conscience sharpshooter who can really screw up a defense. It'd make Georges' life SO much easier.

Anyone who adds defense, a little nastiness, and can rebound. Hogue, Babb, Homan all come to mind.

Jackson Vroman would fit that mold too. Also could fit with the rumors of the team going out to the bars late the day before a game. I remember one rumor he got wasted on the bus ride to an away game and put up massive numbers.
