Fred Hoiberg?
Charles Boozer.
I can't believe this thread has made it this far without a mention of a 4 time Big 8 first team defensive player who also happened to score over 2500 points in his spare time. Jeff Grayer would provide a lot to the Cyclone defense (able to defend pretty much any position on the floor) while still contributing a point or two.
Agreed. Defense, toughness and the ability to score in a variety of ways.I can't believe this thread has made it this far without a mention of a 4 time Big 8 first team defensive player who also happened to score over 2500 points in his spare time. His career stat line always floors me:
20.6 pt, 7.3 r, 2.0 a, 1.6 stl.
We could definitely use some of this right now...History tells us: Dustin Hogue
Tinsley basically due to the fact that it was like having a damn magician out on the court. One second you see the ball, the next second you don't. :twitcy:
Or, Fizer, well because his game reminds me of Georges.
Hornacek might be my favorite ISU player of all time but, although he was a very good shooter, he wasn't a dead eye shooter. He was a way better shooter in the pros. Off of the top of my head, I'd say Hoiberg, Jake, Tyus, Naz and Michael Nurse were probably better shooters than him. For all-around guard play, I'd certainly go with Hornacek though.Yes, the Cyclones are going through a rough patch. But let's have some fun with this team.
If you could add any former Cyclone, and 1 only to this team, who would it be.
I think I've settled on Fizer. He was simply just one of the most dominant offensive threats we've had.
I had given thoughts to an Ejim, or Homan, to add toughness and rebounding, or even a Hornacek or Willoughby for dead eye 3 point shot, but in the end, Fizer was ok at defense/rebounding and the offensive level he played his last 10-15 games or so for ISU is the highest level of ball we've ever seen. With Georges ability to pass the ball, that duo would simply be unstoppable.
Wasn't lockdown on defense, but would give us the depth we need, help with rebounding, was just plain fun to watch, and nobody else has said it, so Royce White.
I don't think Royce would fit in well chemistry-wise with this team. Enough fragile egos to deal with already.
Homan. Rebounding, blocked shots, and general nasty attitude!
