I'll go with Fizer. The inside presence and defense that Jameel just hasn't played with so far is desperately needed. Fizer is extremely tough and willing to do the dirty work freeing up Georges to do his thing. I'd go with Tinsley but I think Monte will turn it on moving forward. Fizer more valuable fit with this group.

I think this team could, oddly enough since we can score a ton, best benefit from adding Tyrus McGee. We have no knock-down, in your face type shooter this year and McGee was exactly that. This would help our spacing and relieve Georges and Nader from having to play outside so much in a creator type role, which they really aren't meant for considering their strengths are taking advantage of mismatches and post/back to basket type moves.
I can't believe this thread has made it this far without a mention of a 4 time Big 8 first team defensive player who also happened to score over 2500 points in his spare time. Jeff Grayer would provide a lot to the Cyclone defense (able to defend pretty much any position on the floor) while still contributing a point or two.

Agreed. Defense, toughness and the ability to score in a variety of ways.
I might consider Royce White. I don't know if any ISU player elevated the level of the other players more than him.
Hornacek might be my favorite ISU player of all time but, although he was a very good shooter, he wasn't a dead eye shooter. He was a way better shooter in the pros. Off of the top of my head, I'd say Hoiberg, Jake, Tyus, Naz and Michael Nurse were probably better shooters than him. For all-around guard play, I'd certainly go with Hornacek though.
Also, nice thread. I think we all kind of needed this. It's a bit like when Crash Davis started the sprinklers to create the rain postponement.

I don't think Royce would fit in well chemistry-wise with this team. Enough fragile egos to deal with already.
Barry Stevens, if the 3 point line was around when that man played, he would averaged 30+..

This, 100x this.
Homan pretty much single-handedly kept Stinson and Blalock in check his senior year and we made the NCAA tournament. The next year when he was gone those guys went crazy, we didn't go anywhere and Wayne got fired.
Aside from what he contributed on the court I feel we have a couple guys this year who could benefit from a little Homan "tough love" in practice/off the court.
