13-5 will probably win it, or at least tie, 12-6 isnt winning any league with an 18 game schedule. So we have to finish 11-4 to have a chance.
Yeah, page 1 was more than enough for me. How in the hell are there 10 pages of this nonsense?
You need to get it out of your head that the only way the season is a success is if we win a championship.
Do you hold Iowa to this same standard?
Just a lot of snowflakes that can’t handle some thinking a 3-0 start was a “should”.
Who is really a dominant team in this league? Kansas is not the 3 point shooting team of the past and lost a very very good post player. 12-6 with a couple of teams tied at the top is a high probability especially in a very strong league.
Okay say its 13-5, right now Tech would need to go 10-5 their last 15 games, Tech has played 2 at home and 1 on the road. Tech struggled against KSU at home, and finally finished off OU at the end.
Conversely ISU destroyed the conference favorite at home. Does that mean much probably not, but I do think ISU's home court advantage is better than Tech's , Tech is more likely to stub their toe at home than ISU. But neither is totally immune to that possibility.
ISU, needs to go 11-4, Texas needs to go 11-4 (ISU lost at Baylor Tech lost at OSU) but both already have road wins.
TCU they are 1-0 they need to go 12-5 and probably 11-4 after tonight.
OU is 1-2, the struggled against OSU at home and lost to 2 of the better teams on the road, but they have to go 12-3 the rest of the way.
KU after tonight needs to go 11-4 most likely, they lose and the need 12-3
Sure it would have been great to win at Baylor, but I get the impression from you because they lost, they are now one of the least likely to win the conference.
Maybe its the ISU fan in you with all the disappointment, that says we will fail. Because the numbers clearly do not agree with your assessment
Let things play out a few more weeks before you throw dirt on the team. Plenty of time for us to all wallow in failure if that happens.

That was the last time ISU was regularly going undefeated at home, and it's basically been two decades since a real conference title. After a sub .500 season I guess being decent isn't good enough.
Folks has got some issues.
Probably those that think this thread, outside of jer, has been a meltdown. It’s mostly a bunch of valid critiques followed by defensive posts by those that cannot handle that.
I honestly don't care if they "win" a championship because you still have the Big 12 and NCAA tourneys to make things right. It would be nice however to at least contend for a regular season title once in awhile.
Its getting tiresome watching Kansas win it every year while we go our traditional 11-7 because we cant finish games on the road against scrub teams.
Even with Hoiberg we were nowhere close to winning and those were suppose to be our best teams in school history. I was hoping Prohm could put an end to that because he teaches defense but so far I dont see any indication that Prohm is getting us past the level Hoiberg left us at.
And no I dont hold Iowa to that standard. Anybody who watches basketball knows that Iowa State has alot more talent every year. Whoever is expecting Iowa to win Big 10 titles with the rosters Fran has put together is on crack.

I think this roster is setup to be a peak year, and if this year is going to be a program-worthy peak, we’ll need to win games like last night via better defense and rebounding. Getting some KU calls and better luck would help, too.
Maybe it won’t happen, but it’s early. If it does not, I think the program is at the level for that to be disappointing and worthy of criticism.
Babb was abused by their little point guard. THT played over Haliburton for the last five minutes. Those are the two things that really bothered me. I hope it bothers Babb and Prohm too.
We played well enough to win most nights against that Baylor team. They played out of their minds and it was just good enough to beat a team that wasn't at its best.

I think ISU should just do what they did Saturday to every single team they play because college basketball is like that and ISU occasionally goes to Sweet Sixteens.
I think any other team, I'd be more 'whatevs' about last night's loss since ISU just didn't have it together and that's how basketball goes, but seeing Baylor succeed at all is hard to watch.
Kansas goes 9-0 or 8-1 at home, and at least 5-4 on the road ever year, thats the path to a Big 12 championship. Nobody said they go 18-0 ever year.

I was thinking in general Jacobsen isn't good enough to be a go to guy in the Big 12. He's great against mid majors, and very good in spurts, or in the right matchups, against the Big 12, but he's a liability if he's out there too long.
Cam and Solo are also best in spurts. That's why when they're all three healthy it's the best case scenario. They all bring something different, but if one has to play extended stretches, then they become a weakness.
