Put me in the camp that was wishing we'd get a higher profile tournament a la Preseason NIT (if that still exists), or (the one I've been waiting for forever) the Maui Invitational.

Oh well. The field could be decent, or maybe not. But, there's no perennial blue bloods that you'll get in Maui that you know will be good like the Syracuses, Dukes or Kentuckys of the world. I will still hold out hope these will be resume builders.

If we EVER get the Maui in my lifetime, I'm going. Come hell or high water (or a little bitty ocean) I WILL be there. Maybe I'll even let PapaLew go with me.

I'm surprised we said yes to this tournament, I would think with another good year we would have better options. These things aren't set in stone though, so if something better opens up I would hope we jump at it.

But they are booked way in advance.

The field for the Nov. 2015 Maui event was announced in the middle of the 2013-14 season.

Not super exciting location, but I am excited at the possibility of playing Illinois.

I think this will be a better field next year than it would be facing these teams this year. Illinois will be improved with the #8 SG and #10 SF both already committed, plus they are in on 3 top 10 Centers. Buzz will have VTech looking better with a year under his belt. UAB lost four starters from last years team, but will have all of this year to groom their top 100 PF Lee.

Not impressed at all. We better get a marquee game this year even if we have to play it on the road. Will be our best team possibly ever. The non-con needs to be loaded Fred.

Definitely meh, but we knew already that Maui was booked, and if you look at this year's tournament slate, most bracketed formats are similar to Emerald once you dip beyond Puerto Rico tipoff, Battle 4 Atlantis and Legends.

Even NIT has lost heyday lustre.
