Ejim out 4-6 weeks

I'd rather have big wins in March. Fred has yet to have a roster with a lot returning. Probably will always be that way but it doesn't lend itself to non-conference success. That is fine. Remember, the way the RPI is set up now losses to good teams are still weighted better than wins over crap. I think the 3 balls will be flying early.
Yes we would all love big wins late in the year, but is that possible this year? There is going to be quite a difference between OSU, KU and everyone else. I doubt we can beat those two this year so what does that leave us for quality wins? Where are there going to be opportunities to pick up quality wins. Baylor maybe? Wins over the rest of the Big 12 teams will not help our RPI much and certainly won't help our resume. We need a quality non conference win really bad this year, more so than in years past.

I don't ever doubt that we can beat someone in Hilton.

There was a team in the tourney last year that had a kid that averaged like 2 points a game come off the bench to replace an all-american in foul trouble and he lit up louisville. That is all we need to happen and we'll beat Michigan.

ajk is now right up there in CyFan basketball lore with Cydkar's classic 2012 Big 12 Tournament "Texas has no chance" thread.

Ejim should be allowed to kick ajk4st8 in the nuts repeatedly (after he is healed, obviously)

Hahaha! In all seriousness though, Percy Gibson will be relied on heavily. Wouldn't be surprised if you see minutes and production increase especially with defensive standpoint under the tutalege of Coach Doc Sadler. Percy showed some double figure games last season point wise. The game last season against Iowa he was in double figures and actually had a hell of a game. I think the fact that Percy is somewhat seasoned now (Junior class), and the fact that he has two seasons at Iowa State under his belt, that will bring confidence, and a sense of responsibility to become a leader. I predict Percy averaging around 8-9 points per game this season. He will be good! The doubters will see..

I screamed "**** this ****" at work. Got some weird looks.

We will need Thomas to step up big time, we will also need Niang to stay out of foul trouble as much as possible. We get Niang in foul trouble we will have no returning starters playing. While the timing of this injury is bad, it could be worse. November is still football season, we don't play too many games this can impact. If anything we get players gaining experience.

I trust Fred Hoiberg will be able to make the best of this news and coach a competitive team.
