Dustin Hogue

I have said it before, as have others. Houge is simply a mini-Ejim, and I mean that in the most complimentary way possible.

Undersized but athletic and strong. Great hustle. Nose for the ball. Rebounding MACHINE.

He will absolutely replace Melvin's role on next years team, and will be around a double double every night. Very valuable.

Its hard to tell how good he actually was at hills, that team was completely stacked so I am not surprised he is doing this well. Although I didn't expect him to have this type of jump shot, I cannot wait to see what he does in the future.

I think they have been working on his jumper quite a bit. I am sure that he practiced shooting quite a bit with the off week.

It isn't surprising that Dustin's brother, Doug Hogue, is a linebacker for the Carolina Panthers. Hogue plays with a linebacker mentality and toughness out there on the court. Truly a man amongst boys at times. Kane, Hogue & Ejim may be the best rebounding PG, SF & PF respectively combo we've ever had. Allows us to play extremely small and quick.

Anyone else wonder what is up with him playing with a toothpick in his mouth? If that is the good luck tooth pick, we need to keep it.

This game should be a solid glass of shut the hell up for anyone that believes this...posted early in the BYU game.

I'm not sad Hogue got 3 (fouls). I have a feeling he's going to be a game-to-game love-hate guy this year.

So what is the record for rebounds in one game at ISU? I'm sure it's more than 20, just curious how close Hogue got.

Ejim and Hogue in open competition for Big12 rebounding title?

Not even close. Someone get Uthoff something to eat.

I don't think it will do Uthoff any good. He appears to have no lower jaw.

Hogue's knack for positioning and tenacity on the glass is terrific. Reminds me most of Ejim as a soph or Jr. Stevie Johnson is a pretty decent comparison, but Hogue is much smoother and has a lot more offensive potential.

Dustin does the center jump...so far this year (at home) he has won them all.

The guy he jumped against tonight was 7' tall.

Excellent positioning, excellent timing, excellent motor.

Hogue is competing with Ejim for the teams top "energy guy". I love having both those guys on the floor at the same time.

You guys are lucky Fran didn't want Hogue. He's been a nice consolation prize after you lost the Uthoff lottery. But let's be honest, he gets so many rebounds because he has to play like 52 minutes a game. If you had the Hawks' depth he'd probably play about 8 minutes a game.

Sincerely,
Deanvogs
