He's not happy.


Christopher Nolan said something along the lines of...

"I found out from Twitter today that I'm going from releasing movies under the banner of the most prestigious studio in Hollywood to releasing them on a second-rate streaming service. **** that."

I am sure all the talent involved in Nolan and Villeneuve films feel pretty similar. Those two are two of the rare directors in Hollywood who can make hundreds of millions on complex, nuance filmmaking.

I have to think Warner Brothers finds a sacrificial lamb somewhere in the organization and walks this back later.
 
When the pandemic ends, this trend will end, unless it’s a straight to DVD quality movie. I can see studios releasing those to the streamers easily.
