Curious about how this relates to Patreon. Does CF get a larger portion from these subscription than Patreon? If so, I'll switch. I may just add the new subscription anyway. Can't let 2015 and Sigmapolis enjoy it without me.

Ads on websites are just part of life now. A half an inch ad at the bottom of your screen really shouldn’t bother you, unless you let it. As I’m typing this, I don’t even know what the ad on mine is for. Keep the ads CW. I think the vocal minority is the one you are responding to.

Well if you donated $10 through Patreon every month then CF gets $9. If you buy the $9.99 subscription which is through PayPal, CF gets $9.40.

Not THAT big of a difference but it could probably add up. Plus the benefits you would get on the site

From what I understand, the SuperFanatic stuff wasn't supposed to go live until Jan. 1 so I'm not sure all the features are available yet but clearly, some of them are. Have your fun with it!

Where’s the :Stansbury: ?

Just catching up on this thread. My apologies for a tardy response.

A lot to throw at you here ...

The Super Fanatic is stuff we have COMING to the site. It is not actually live yet, even though you can see it. So stay tuned on that. I'm wanting to offer side goodies, stuff like that when possible to help raise revenue for the site but also make the user experience better for you all.

That's really what eliminating the bar was about for me. We want to make the user experience better here in 2019. It's a fine line between revenue and experience. Really hard to do with a free site in 2019. I don't expect most of you to understand it but just trust me when I say that business wise, we've had to adapt a lot to an ever changing landscape over the last five years or so.

My goal is to have fewer ads on the site that pay us more.

We will offer a premium ad-free option as well.

We're also in the process of working on a new app. That won't be released until sometime this spring at the earliest. Likely will be in the summer.

Thanks for all of your patience. We couldn't do it with out you guys.
