Looking for a good suggestion as to where I should catch the game today in DSM. where is everyone headed?

I'm 1-2 watching games at the Chicken Coop. 2-3 watching games at Jethro's. 2-2 watching games at The Keg Stand. 18-0 when I don't go anywhere and watch the game at home. I'm watching the game at home

Whats the word on keg stand? I've seen a bunch of stuff on here about that place. Do they cater to Cyclone fans or is just a place that lots of Cyclones go that also happens to play our game? If I'm going to watch the game out I want to hear the broadcast and not have to watch under blaring country or something.

Place is a dump IMO...but some people like it.

I think we will hit up a BWW in the area or something...usually good crowds at those.

Not an official Cyclone bar, but try Charlie's Filling Station (315 Grand Ave, WDSM). 7 TV's all on the clones with volume. There will be a good Clone crowd and Hox that actually cheer for ISU.

I like the Keg Stand, but it really isn't a good option if I want decent food like I'd have with the Coop.

I really wish Des Moines had a dedicated, unapologetic Cyclones bar like your Longest Yards and Front Rows. If I had the money, I'd open one. Saint's in Beaverdale is pretty nice. Had a great meal while watching us lose to Oklahoma earlier this season.

I think the Keg Stand food is pretty good. I think their wings are better than Coops personally.

I'll probably drag my wife and kid to Old Chicago. Mediocre food but there's other stuff to do in the mall so if they get bored they can leave me in peace with my beer and basketball.

The gyros at Keg Stand are on point.

It's a bar, though. Don't expect granite & rich mahogany. The reasons I go there:
-2nd best craft beer selection in DSM after El Bait
-Cyclone and soccer friendly
-Lots of room
-Lots of TVs

It's up to the Clone fans to make it happen. Money talks... so if enough Clone fans get together and pick a bar that they just absolutely take over when the Clones are playing then that bar owner will quickly become loyal to the Cyclones and their fans. It's all about picking a specific spot and declaring it Cyclone territory.

Keg Stand on Friday's after work is busy, so I expect today to be even more busy with the game tipping off at 6. Make sure to get there early if you want a spot. I assume it will be pretty full.

Very fun atmosphere at Benchwarmers in Ankeny yesterday over the extended lunch. Always have had a good experience watching games there

They're closer to a Cyclone bar than a lot of them in town. **cough** Ridgemont. **cough** **cough**

Ha. Yeah I went to Ridgemont for the game at Kansas this year because Keg Stand was full. I was expecting a few Iowa State fans watching the game but I was literally the only one in the place that cared about/watched the game.

I went to an official ISU gamewatch there for a FB game during the 2012 season. They had the Squawkeye game on the projector. WTF?

Kegstand will have a LOT of Cy fans there. Excellent beer selection, and good wings and pizza.
