Dresser Interview

Really enjoyed that. Especially liked the part where he talks about his age and how he still has to evolve or die. I think you can slightly see some of the dying happening with other old school coaches and programs that aren’t really evolving.

The MFF thing is asinine. From listening to that, They could fix it if they wanted to. But the “right” people don’t want it and want the screwed up system we have now. I wish he could’ve said who the “right” people are but I think we all could guess.

So kysen is done, Cabanban has torn up foot, want to redshirt Perryman.

Fuessley the rest of the year? Would be a tough pill to swallow for our big duals.

Tourney wise it won’t be a huge hit but you’re right with duals. We’re gonna have to be getting some bonus elsewhere potentially especially against ASU and Mizzou. I think we’ll still be fine against UNI and the Oklahoma schools as long as one of our big guns doesn’t go down too.

Shouldn’t be a huge hit tourney wise but if Kysen could ever finish he’d be a blood round guy. So the potential for a few points at 125 is gone.

I assume we see Perryman for a dual or two.

Anyone have any idea how long Cabanban would be out?

I thought somebody said in another thread like 6 weeks or something. Atleast with Cabanban you’ve got potentially a NQ kind of guy.

Honest question, why not have Perryman redshirt next year? If he's currently the best 125 we've got why not send him out for the remainder of this year or until Cabanban gets back then redshirt him next year

If Cabanban is going to be back then it wouldn’t be smart to burn his shirt for a couple of duals. I’m not sure he’s better than Cabanban right now. If he’s better, then burn the shirt.

I honestly feel bad for Kysen. This year could be real special for the team and then this kind of thing happens to him and he can’t be apart of it on the mat.

Agree. Dresser said it. Duals, as painful as it is to hear, don’t mean much anyway. He wants them to be, but they just aren’t.

If they expect Cabanban back this year, and Perryman is not clearly better, no sense in burning Perryman’s RS.

Interesting comments from KD about how often guys get hurt now & how few matches they wrestle. Kind of like MLB starting pitchers. Durability is way down from 20+ years ago. Overtraining? Too much youth wrestling?

Both at young ages.

I also think the sport has changed. More funk these days. Awkward positions. More tweaking of the joints.

Somebody has said it, how many more events can Perryman take part in this year?

Know a kid whose dad one time posted on the predicament that he had broke 1000 matches. I think it may have even been before he hit HS. Kid was solid but had major baggage. Bounced around a bit, know he was at northern Colorado for a bit.

Some of these kids don’t seem to have any activities outside of wrestling.
