Downey makes it Big TIme

....Jackson said he asked Downey how he was feeling on Saturday. Downey told him he wasn't 100 percent....

"I wanted him to compete, I really did," Jackson said. "He didn't think his ankle would hold up in a mat situation that (Oklahoma State wrestler Nolan) Boyd was bringing to the table. If you're already thinking along those lines, thinking that you're not 100 percent and thinking that you're going to be hurt..."

This is getting tiresome. Just shut up and wrestle.

I'm not saying he can't back it up, but I don't see the point in talking trash if you've barely been on the mat.

Also, no matter how good you are, smack talk isn't a great look when your team is 1-9.

Just not the attention this team needs, is my main point I guess.

Wow. Where did you find this? Link? So basically the father and son all this time have been insinuating it's the coaches decision all this time when really it's the kid not choosing to go out at less than 100%?

This is beyond crazy to say the least

After reading this, the timing seems odd to be talking junk on twitter.

Don't get me wrong I don't really have a problem with it, I think wrestling needs more personalities and marketability. If he wants to play the heel, thats fine. People are paying attention.. just make sure to back it up in March.

Jackson has to be sick of Downey's crap. Glad he called him on his BS.

Can't imagine how you couldn't. Your team is 1-9 and your best wrestler talks crazy trash and doesnt help the team out and tweets how duals don't matter its just practice. Though your coach will prolly get fired because of "practice"

As mentioned in another thread, due to his "amazing" number of matches wrestled so far he has ZERO room for error in the Big12 Tourney if he even wants to go to St Louis

A buddy of mine follows him on some social media, maybe Snapchat, and said he spent several days this week drinking at a casino.

He's not going to see the Big 12 tourney, imho.

Frank Santana actually wrestled through injuries -- serious ones -- and won while doing it. He's free to talk as much business as he wants.
I agree with your response 100%, just thought it was interesting how Frank was. Damn awesome wrestler, and now D3 with some exciting potential as well, but caught up with media. Frank was a fan favorite.
