Down goes Iowa

Anyone that is arguing that Iowa had a better season than Iowa State at this point is a moron. Head to head, Q1 wins, NCAA tournament success. All of those in Iowa State's favor. Just because you tied for 4th in a down Big 10 and made a run in the conference tournament doesn't negate the rest of the seasons success and the NCAA tournament success.

I don't know if I agree about the bust part (I guess that depends upon how highly he gets picked)...but I agree with your point! Keegan is way too laid back...there were times I thought "does he even want to be on the court?". I know he does...and I know he is a good kid. But if I were an Iowa fan I would have wanted to see a bit more fire from him...or at least some! I always wonder if he was happy to be there...yeah, that is reading into things a bit but he just seemed to miss that extra emotion that is important to have in athletic competitions.
Keegan does seem like a guy who would make a good Pippen to someone else's Jordan. Not your lead guy, but the secondary scorer for your team.

Yeah the guy said he'd rather have a Big 10 Tournament Title than a Sweet 16 appearance, and his main argument was because you get a ring for winning the Big 10 Tournament lol. I guess he doesn't realize our guys will get a ring for whatever round they end up going to.

Is this the same guy that says the B1G schedule is a "meat grinder"?

After watching things play out I'd guess WI finishes 4th or 5th in the B12 this year. Iowa a touch lower.

They are coping by now trying to say they'd now rather have the conference tournament title than a Sweet 16 lol. Can't make this **** up.

Here is how I rank things.

#1-National Championship - will more than likely never happen for Iowa or ISU in our lifetimes
#2-Final Four
#3-Regular season conference championship
#4-Elite 8
#5-Sweet 16
#6-Conference tournament championship
#7-Finish the season ranked

I have no problem with this. They understand their place in the pecking order - chase your B1G dreams, get some notoriety for the 'characters' you have go through the program and play your lotto ticket that you might actually win a game in the NCAAs. Mean while, ISU returns to its proper place on the national stage. It was a rough couple of years in the wilderness but all is as it should be again.

ISU got lucky that Prohm was so horrible. Fran has never really done that and has delivered very average results. Kind of frustrating as an Iowa fan. I almost wish Fran would have a horrible season or two so he would go, but I feel he will have Iowa competitive most years so he won't get fired.

I would take a Sweet 16 or better 10 out of 10 times when compared to a conference tournament championship.

Disagree with this one. Winning a the regular season doesn't garner a trophy or banner in the arena. It's nice to tout and boast about though. I think it's advantageous for a school focus on things that show how successful you are, so things like trophy's and banners. I'd probably rank regular season conference champ at #6 and move everything up.

I like this list but think I may switch 3 and 4. Being one game away from the Final Four is something special.

Being the best of the bad teams in your league most years is the goal, huh?

How very Dan McCarney like

I think you do get a banner for regular season conference championship. Those are very very hard to come by as they show more of a complete season than maybe just a hot streak at the end of the year (which is sometimes all that matters). But I'd still rather have an Elite 8 appearance.

I think you are spot on (although one could argue ISU was unlucky that Leath made us pass over TJ when Prohm was hired).

I think it is worse than Fran doing good enough - he seems to have a nugget every year that makes him safe. If he had not won the B1G tourney this year, had POY in Garza last year, etc.

My sense is your fanbase may ready to move on but instead Barta will likely succumb to Fran's negotiating and let him turn the Tourney title into a fat extension.
