It's almost as if our guys don't care, and they looked just as bad last year. Maybe Iowa is that much better, but this is two years of **** poor pathetic bull **** football against the Hawks. If we play well next week, I'll be convinced Rhoads has mailed it in against Iowa.

I don't know that he under-emphasizes it, but he definitely doesn't pump it up like McCarney did. Perhaps that will lead to better conference success, but that is still yet to be determined.

Rhoads always sez that every game is emphasized the same...in other words you guys had better get ready for more butt whippings from Iowa!!!

Danny Mac always believed this was the most important game of the year and it showed with the effort that the football team put out....

This football team mailed it in at 14-0....

PATHETIC RHOADS PATHETIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

its called strategy folks; has no one ever played risk here? do yourselfs a favor and get a ps2; might come in handy soon.

If we just sucked week in and week out, it would make sense, but it's like we have a pretty solid team unless we're playing Iowa. Then we fold up shop and quit before the game even starts.

As a Iowa fan, I can see the difference between Mac and Rhoads in this game. I think ISU will be better for it.

Dan Dmac understood that to be the program he wanted it to be they had to be able to compete and win against iowa. For pride, recruiting, exposure. He was not going to settle for his teams to get embarrassed by their arch-rival. It's not good. He saw no ceiling in what ISU could do. He knew you couldn't be the best in the Big 12 if your not the best in this state. CPR knows this to.

Hey, if we end up in a bowl game, I won't care about today at all come season's end.

But we can't keep looking dead against Iowa every year. Most of us expected a loss, but we didn't expect that pathetic effort.

This is it - exactly. Great post. We cannot continue to be embarrassed like this by our arch-rival and build a program at ISU. This was awful.

Maybe it's better, long-term, to treat it no more importantly than the rest of the schedule, but if you're going that route:

1. ISU needs to get big Big 12 wins to compensate

2. It's OK to lose the rivalry game, but you could still be competitive. It's happened twice under Rhoads, and yes, it involved good Iowa teams, but ... five-touchdown blowouts? Really?

I think it's obvious Rhoads doesn't overemphasize Iowa like McCarney did. All that aside, this was the most pathetic I've ever seen a Paul Rhoads coached team play.

maybe it's just you.

better get that do rag avatar to get our mojo back.

when the fall practice reports were that the O was dominating the D early on.....that was pretty telling....and based on what we saw today, I can see why.

They are just not that good.

Last year's blowout loss to Iowa definitely had a different feel to today. We helped Iowa out a lot last year with turnovers and mistakes. Today Iowa straight up kicked our a**es all over the field. It was humiliating to get dominated like that, hopefully it lights a fire in our team to show some pride next week
