Does Monte lack confidence in his shooting?

I don't think Monte lacks confidence in anything. I don't think he has for a very long time.......even before he came to ISU.

He is not a me-first point guard. His first options, I think, will always be to pass and get others involved, or drive to the basket (even against 3 trees) and try to get extra points at the line.

Dude has been automatic from 3 lately. Don't have the numbers in front of me but he has brought it from like ~29% to 40%+

That's what happens when Fred works with you on shooting fundamentals. Fred said they worked on Monte going straight up on his shot vs. drifting to one side.

Fred also worked with BDJ on his game prior to the last game. Both of his 3's were dead-center.

If you want to improve your jumper, who else can do it better than someone who led the NBA in 3 pt accuracy?

That Fred Hoiberg, he's a decent shooter.

Monte could average 20 ppg easily if he played for a team where he needed to shoulder more of the scoring load and hunted his shot. We don't need him to be Allen Iversen though, and he's not a selfish teammate. He's pretty much the perfect point guard: content to get the rest of the team involved, but dangerously capable of taking a game over if needed.

Attention everyone: can we stop starting really dumb threads, please?

We lost at Kansas which literally everyone does. We are still a really good team. Settle down and stop questioning the players, coaches and everything that is ISU basketball.

Love it when I'm right.

Seems to have found it.......great thread.

Way to spend 10 minutes digging up an old thread that was relevant when posted. Great use of your time I'm sure.

What I have seen over the past 6 games or so is him parking the 18 footer for the 3 ball or a strong drive to the basket. Guy is a great player that deserved 1st team all conference accolades.
