It works. It has aspirin and the effervescence makes it enter the bloodstream faster. If you are taking it for major pain (like arthritis), you might try taking a couple of Ibuprofen and washing them down with the Alka Seltzer. Also will help you get to sleep.

If you're taking it for a bad stomach, it won't stop you from puking, but it will relieve the pressure by helping you to burp.

For me it goes down better if I put the tablets in very cold water. YMMV

I think the Alka Seltzer cold medicine works better than some others simply because it's better to take cold medicine in liquid form vs a pill.

For indigestion I have no clue because I don't really have any issues with that.
