Since 2005, my Missouri plate has been IOWA ST. I also had that plate in Nebraska from about 1978-2003.
I have Texas ISU plates on both my BRZ and Ranger... Funny story... One time on a road trip in Iowa, I was in Cedar Falls and on the way back home I stopped to get gas off HWY20 before leaving town and I found a huge turd on the gas cap behind the gas door. I **** you not. No pun intended... but it was one of the most WTF moments ever. I still to this day believe a Hawk or UNI fan did it just because of my plates.
I had to go with ISU PL85. Some A55H0L3 already took ISU PL8S.

No, but I love the "Matt Campbell" black plates with white letters / numbers! lol. Seriously, I have standard plates with an Iowa State Cyclones wrap around.
I need to share this. I spent the day on clear lake with a friend of mine. Went out for dinner. When we returned to their vehicle, parked right next to us was a truck with the plates ISU4AHF, my friends plates are IST8AHF. Randomly parked next to each other.
I have black plates. I might consider ISU plates if they flipped the colors, Cardinal main color with Gold lettering, I think I think it would look better.
But I think the regular Iowa plates are god awful too. For some reason the Iowa State patrol says it has to be all white behind the lettering, which is dumb, so many states don't. The one that was made somewhere that was the Iowa Flag was the best. There versions we could vote on were not great, and the one that was chosen is terrible.
