DO NOT RUSH THE COURT

You dont see Duke, NC, Kentucky, Kansas and other major programs storming the court after beating their rival, in an exciting game, that they won late. If Hilton Magic is as great as those places, why do you still storm?

Why does it matter what they do?

If our fans want to celebrate after a win by having that celebration at center court, thats OUR choice. Its something fun and is a good way to celebrate a win that is certainly cause for celebration. But no, some people would say 'dont do something fun because someone who has nothing to do with your program might get butthurt about it'

The people who generally get the most butthurt about this are usually fans of blue-blood (or close) schools that hate that they see the court stormed often when they get beat.

We've lost once at home in the past 22 months, and we were favored to win today. No reason to storm the court.

Win over ranked team.
Win over rival team.
Win after being down most of the game, and getting a stop after it seemed like we never got a stop all day.
Win to keep us undefeated.
Win to give us one of our best starts in school history before the students all head off to finals and break (most people in attendance wont see another home game until after the new year!)
Its ******* fun to celebrate on the court.

And there's no reason to celebrate?

I hated the court rush. Whatever, I'm too happy to let this bother me. But this thread should resurrected before every game, I'm afraid.

alarson, These are the same fools who were in their houses jumping up and down screaming at the top of their lungs when Iowa State won tonight. Except they wanna do the whole 'holier than thou' thing. Almost as bad as squawk trolls at this point.

Rushing the court use to be about a lowly team beating a highly rated team. It just doesn't seem right to rush the court when you are the higher ranked team which was favored and historically been better. We don't storm the court for a #23 team. Maybe a top 5 team, but not #23.
Yup, the better team has a 24-43 record against the "historically worse" team. Makes sense to me!

So you equate cheering for your team and court storming. Got it.

I rushed the bar in town. Full of Hoks. No one said a thing. They appreciated my business.

I was at work and could only find out what was happening via email. So the last half hour or so I was glued to the computer monitor. When I found out ISU won after having multiple heart attacks the last few minutes of the game I rushed the floor around the factory giving all the local hok fans hell.

I remember being in the student section last year towards the end of the KU game last year; CAC was going up and down the aisles telling students not to rush if we won because "Fred says we're better than that"

I don't know how much truth there is to that, but if it is true, I can't see CFH wanting us to do it against the Hawks.

Well, during his sideline post-game interview, Hoiberg pointed to the crowd on the floor and complimented them.

I agree. Court rushing should only be done if you are a unranked team beating a top-five ranked team. Otherwise it's silly!!

For the record, Sports Center just showed our highlights, followed by the host saying "let's storm the court, let's storm the court" because it was the natural thing to do. He didn't say anything about the rules or whether other teams don't.

I have no problem with them storming the court. Yes, ISU was favored...by 2.5 to start....guess Vegas is pretty smart.

The game came down to the last few seconds, and a few missed shots or hit shots either way decides who wins. It went ISU's way. ISU beat an arch-rival. The students rushed the court, but it looked to me like it was more to get to the ISU players and congratulate them than just going out on the floor to cheer.

Lighten up. It's college. A game between 2 very good teams that came down to the very end to be decided. Who cares if they rush the court? Big deal.

To me, it is much more foolish and silly to make such a big thing out of rushing the court than the actual act itself.
