Disappointing

Yep. You do realize this is 2021! People can walk out and drive home watching the game on their cell phone.
You guys won and you have a nice/good team enjoy that and save these comments for your Hawk friends.
Remind him that it was 19 also. So maybe his memory isn’t as good.

I'm an 81 year old Iowa fan and suffered through 17 years of loosing football. During those 17 years I don't think I ever witnessed fans leaving the stadium like I did yesterday.

What was attendance like during those years?

I was in the upper deck around the 20 yard line on the SW side. I was basically surrounded by Hawk fans and it was terrible

They would have had to have been at the stadium before they could leave. By the way, how many of those years did Iowa conveniently duck ISU?

You should check out multiple Iowa bowl games when the stadium was empty at the end.

I was at the WI game yesterday and all sorts of fans left after the 3rd quarter.
Happens everywhere with every team for all sorts of reasons.

81 year old hok and posting on CF. Kudos.

In those 20 years of losing football, did you ever witness the coaching staff being sued like they are now?

It’s an instate rivalry game. If people really want to go they’ll find a way.

The crowd was the least of our problems.

Biggest problem aside from the just outstandingly bad play and all, is the lack of 'go get it'-ness.

In the "Credit where Credit is Due Department, Iowa's attendance remained very strong. That's why the Iowa turn-around under Fry was easier to accomplish. But I believe Iowa State fans have also supported our team very well considering the relative lack of success.

My donor section had lots of hawk fans and the vast majority were not guests. They had multiple 2, 4 and even 6 seat blocks. It was as bad as I have seen it and their crowd was as insufferable. If their band had been there is would have been much worse, but even then; it was embarrassing for us at times. Running out during out entrance, their chant during alma mater and after Ozt spoke; the usual @#$&. Credit to them, they came and were fired up and at times started to flex their presence. hawks and our fan response were just a couple of the many things the pissed me off yesterday. Still not over that game and game experience.

Yeah there were quite a few hawk fans in the stadium, but how anyone could be in Ames Saturday and see the atmosphere and think of Cyclone Nation as anything but ******* electric is beyond me. Iowa State fans brought the house. Jack Trice was rocking.

Everyone probably thinks it is the game, or even the hogeyes and their DB cheering while the Alma Mater was being sung. I was disappointed in the number of seats sold to the visiting team, and I know people will b#### and say I am naive. but JFC, if you need money that bad go sell some blood or work a week at a p### ant job.

That was in the visitors section. You know what would have quieted that down? A competitive football game.
