Digitizing photos

Buy a simple scanner. They're not very expensive, and will definitely save money in the long run. Helpful for storing documents as well.

There are lots of places online that do it relatively cheaply. I've used scandigital.com before with good results.
Keep an eye on Groupon, Living Social, those types of sites because I've seen a lot of deals out there for the online scanning companies. If memory serves I once bought $350 of credit at one place for $75 or something. (I had a lot of video to do as well.)

Yeah - video takes more than a scanner.
We bought a device and burned all of the vhs & tapes from our camcorders, but we've got a ton of super 8 that it won't take. We will probably pony up the cash to have those done by a professional eventually.

Are you talking using the flatbed or some sort of feeder to do multiple at a time?
Because I have a flatbed scanner with document feeder. But don't want to calculate the time to scan 5 at a time, crop etc...
