Did Steele win his job back?

I said earlier today that I thought we should play Jantz against teams like Baylor that are so succeptible to the pass and we should start Barnett against teams more susceptible to the run (Texas). I still think that.

He took much better care of the ball, but he is still like Tony Romo's mini-me. He took much better care of the ball at times and he went through his receivers well. But he sucks at the zone read and is still what is killing us at the line on the run. He's still trying too hard to force a play. He still has the dropsies too.

This said, I love the kid's heart. If he continues to play smart we'll win at least two more.

He isn't good at the zone read. But really, he should have been about 41 for 50 tonight. Pretty good.

I hope so, but more importantly, I think the offense has overcaome its fear of winning, and the receiving core may have found an identify. All the dropped passes faded away as the game wore on. Ernst Brun is a budding superstar, and Albert Gary may have returned from his journey into the wilderness.

BTW, (did not follow game thread) but what was up with putting Barnett in, the drive after Jantz scores a TD? I understand they likely went into the game with the plan of splitting quarters, but seriously? If it's working, then stay with it. I definitely trust CPR, but that was a head scratcher.

No idea. Barnett fumbled the ball on his 2nd play I believe also. Shouldn't have even tryed that.

they played against the worst defense in the country bascially. Jantz played good but I bet people on this board could play QB and get 1 TD against their D. It's that bad.

If he plays like this against Oklahoma, then we have something to talk about
Haters gonna hate. NO ONE is saying he should win the Heisman, pal. Truth is he played well enough tonight. Baylor does make opposing quarterbacks look good. So what?

Everybody was as confused as hell. It was a real head scratcher and a wasted series.
That was the first time that I ever questioned one of CPR calls.

Steele no doubt won the job and should continue on with it for the remainder of the season. He provides the arm we need to stretch the field and make the offense more dynamic, lets keep moving forward!

Idk man. Barnett looked solid on his 3 plays, SJ threw more interceptions. Steele lacked enthusiasm on his TD celebrations. I think it's an open competition in practice this week. Also Tiller threw a nice ball, might as well throw him into the mix.

Steele played really well tonight and earned the right to start against OU. But beyond that the jury is still out.

Baylor is bad. Really bad. But he took advantage and played a brilliant game.

So many things we accomplished today SHOULD have been accomplished due to the competition. But, Jantz was throwing good balls all night, very catchable. That is a good measuring stick regardless of competition and he did a great job there. Barnett has at least 8 completely uncatchable balls every game.

Also, having a run game and all day to throw helps a bunch. Not having any of these things in the Tech game was a huge reason he looked so bad.

Only saw the box score but looks like KU did well on the ground against Texas today.
