Did Fred mess up not taking Peter Jok?

KenPom has ISU's schedule #1 in terms of Opponent AdjD. The Big 12 has the best 3 pt shooting team in the country too so that probably has something to do with 3pt Defense

Hey, IM just going by stats, man. And I dont know what total D has to do with 3pt shooting, like 3 pt D would. Whatever though, go find some obscure stat, skew it in your way, then make another baseless claim. I also find it hard to believe that Buddy (and OK) would cuase an entire conference to tank in the 3 pt D (not saying they do, but that was essentially your claim)

We'll send CyTwins off to do that and then at the same time maybe you can go find some obscure, hok message board, post on it, and actually have people give a **** what you're saying.

If Iowa's defense continues the way it has the last two games they aren't going to be a 1 or 2 seed in March

I'll go ahead and completely agree with you here. Iowa's bench needs to produce a little more offensively and obviously the rebounding is a disaster when Woody is in foul trouble (which happens often).

Luckily, we're getting just what the doctor ordered with a trip to Penn St. and then a nice little break to get the players' heads right.

It would hurt our butts if he actually ever beat us.

Not only has Uthoff never beat us he and his sidekicks gave up two second half comebacks and got downright embarrassed on their home floor by Iowa State. That group is a bunch of losers that fold when the pressure sets in.

I'm going to be interested to see how the Wisconsin game goes for Iowa. It's wishful thinking, but I think they have two more losses in them before the Big 10 tournament.

You do realize you could beat ISU, and potentially still get a 1 or a 2 seed, right? Are you okay in the head?

Oh really, I wasn't aware that Iowa was going to play ISU again this year, that's interesting. I know Iowa's schedule pretty well and somehow I missed that. Or, are you saying that I can go back in time and somehow Iowa will play ISU again in December of last year? Quit coming at me, you only embarrass yourself.

The season is much more important than one game, at least for me as I cannot speak for you. I'll take the ISU loss and a 1-2 seed in March over an ISU win and a 4-5 seed every. single. day.

You must not have watched the Minnesota game. iowa will be lucky to limp into a 2 seed. Not sure the team that iowa has put on the floor the last 2 games can go the final games without losing 2-3 of them.

Wasn't playing #234 Minnesota at home just what the doctor ordered for the bench and defense not to look terrible?

I was AT the Minnesota game...

There are ebbs and flows in a season. Upsets happen and some games are closer than they probably should be. Leave this board

After squeaking by god-awful Minnesota at home I wouldn't be so cavalier about chalking up an automatic win.

You'd think, but Minnesota has been playing everybody close lately so I actually expected that last night. We pummel****ed Penn St already so I'm expecting the confidence to be through the roof when our guys head over there this week.

They lost 82-58 to Northwestern on Feb 4th. Northwestern

It was nice of you and the other 8,000 fans there to show up. Iowa fans do know they are ranked in the Top 5, right?

I just think it is hilarious that any Hok fans would to show up and attempt to post smack here the day after their glorious team nearly lost at home to a team that has not won a game in conference all year, and likely will not win one.

As far as the original question goes, hindsight can almost always be perfect. Would it be nice to have Jok now? Maybe...but honestly, who would you replace as a starter with him on ISU's team? I think with the circumstances at the time, and what was known of Jok then, Fred made the best choice for that time.

Were the other 14 people there cheering as loud as you?

Nice!

Weather was awful and we were playing an awful team. We're a football school after all, but I'm sure our ticket revenue from basketball will still dwarf ISU's, isn't that a *****???

Haha Iowa has a dream season and will more than likely be a 2-3 seed. Hawk bball fans coming out of the woodwork. Iowa State starts the year with a new coach, loses their best shooter and senior leader in Naz Long and are having what many are referring to as a disappointing year and will likely be a 3-4 seed. That's the difference in the two programs pretty much right there.

I mean there's no reason to come at me for this, as I was at the game (Section, B, Row 27)

The stadium was pretty packed except for the horrendous showing by the student section. I'll admit to anybody that our student section is a joke.
