In theory, I like pitchers being hitters, but I also like history and I tend to side on keeping things how they are.

It sucks. Guys like Wainwright getting hurt while batting blows, but the NL shouldn't consider adding the DH, IMO. The game is more interesting when managers have to actually weigh a lot of different factors into whether he keeps a pitcher in the game or not. The DH basically limits those factors to pitch counts, how well a guy is throwing on a given night and the matchups he'll see next inning. Having to choose between keeping a pitcher who's rolling in the game, even though he's leading off the eighth in a 1-run game, or sitting a guy who's been dominant on the mound to give your team a better chance of generating offense, is more interesting than watching Big Papi swing it.

The NL managers face more complex decisions than AL managers. The DH makes the decision pretty easy for AL managers. Easy is boring.

I liked getting rid of it for everyone, however after saturday and losing Waino for the year - i say pitchers have no business batting. There is a lot more strategy in the NL, however its not like when playing HS or even college ball when the pitchers might be the best hitter on the team. Outside of Rick Ankiel, I don't remember a pitcher that was feared much as a hitter. For the amount of money these pitchers get, why risk injury throwing them out there doing something they don't practice much.

On the one hand, pitchers suck at hitting and the game would be better off without them batting. On the other hand, pitchers having to hit would limit the amount of yordano ventura nonsense.

Wouldn't mind giving the NL a DH as the Cubs have one of the best prospects in baseball who is awful defensively and will end up getting traded to an AL team soon if the switch isn't made.

Only issue - that's a bit more money an NL team will need to cough up.

I would love to see the DH removed from both leagues. But I'm not that dumb. Offense = excitement. Excitement = more fans. More fans = more $$$. The DH stays, for good. If anything, it'll get added to the NL one day. But it will never go away.

Vogelbach? That's the only reason why the NL getting DH is something I wouldn't mind.

The strategy in NL games is much more interesting than AL games to me, so personally I'd rather see both leagues have no DH but it will never happen and the NL will probably get a DH sooner than later.

This regardless of how you feel about the DH rule, there's no doubt it dumbs down the game. Its complexity is what makes baseball great. The people in favor of the DH rule can save themselves time and just watch the highlights on ESPN. That's all you into if you like this rule. Probably bc the strategy of the game is way over your head.

I wish they would get rid of the DH. If you field a position you should have to hit too. Yeah it sucks if a pitcher gets hurt that way but your star position players run the same risks too. You can't tell me if you lost your top hitter to an injury like the Cards did with Wainwright that wouldn't have a serious impact as well. Before long pitchers are going to want to pitch behind a screen or something in fear of getting hit by a comebacker

Then why not DH for every position guy who doesn't hit well? Catchers have more preparation than pitchers and they still have to hit.

You can DH for a catcher... its called going out and getting a better hitting catcher.

I think you are missing a possible answer. "I don't care which but pick one and everyone plays by the same rules."

That said, the players union will never let the DH go, it increases the value of salaries, and keeps players employed longer. So I think the only option is to add the DH to the NL. To have two different set a rules at this point is stupid.

I wish there was a way to have a DH for the first 5 innings and not after that. I like the strategy of the pitcher batting but hate watching NL pitchers work their way around the bottom of the lineup. The NL doesn't reward teams with deep hitting lineups with the 7 and 8 guys not getting good pitches to hit and then not likely to score if they do get on.
