Dg is a good pg, does what a point guard should do, run the floor.
I hate when people rip on him for being a consistently smart player, he does not make many mistakes at all...

If he could always play against OU he would be an all big 12 guard. In three games he is averaging around 15 points and 8 assists a game.
Maybe he should be Hypnotized into thinking every team is Oklahoma. Or that he's playing in the second half (He seems to play better in second halfs).
I agree why in the world does he play so inconsistant? He should feel pretty comfortable dishing the ball to Gilstrap and Brackins. Most of the time I see him dribble all the way down the court, drive down the lane back out to the top of the key and then throw it away, Play Colvin more
Yay! I was waiting for the daily bashing of our 3 year starting PG who is third in the Big 12 in assists and has a good Assist/TO ratio for the recently suspended freshman with more TOs than assists on the season.

He doesn't make mistakes because he is too afraid to make the tough pass. Trying to dump it down to the middle might result in a couple of turnovers, but that's the cost of doing business. You can avoid turning the ball over by dribbling the ball for 30 seconds and throwing up a bad shot. That doesn't make you a good PG. Being able to create shots for others is important.
My thoughts exactly. Colvin needs to see much more time and come in before Buckley. I'm guessing he's not because it's not quite February, and McD doesn't want to reward him too much, but it needs to start happening soon.
BTW, I'm willing to give McD more time, but IMO, if Colvin leaves McD absolutely has to go. We can't keep losing our most promising players. It sets us too far behind.
This is the only statistic in which he is in the top twenty in the league. He can't shoot from the outside, he can't finish in the lane and applies very little on ball pressure to opponents point guards which allows easy passing lanes or open threes.

Let's look at it this way: Each of our point guards will, by necessity, be out there playing the point and the 2 at various times, and maybe sort of the three. I think Colvin brings the most dynamic stuff, but it's hard to root against the solid guy in Garrett, because teams need someone that keeps things steady.
I like both, but of course Colvin has the monster upside.
