Denver recommendations

As for St Pats day, I would avoid Fado's, its something like $20 to get into the tented area and from my experience is pretty lame. Celtic is fun on St. Pats but honestly all of downtown is a blast.

In terms of breweries and places to eat, check out Vine St. Pub. It's the same owners as Mountain Sun in Boulder. Beer is great and the food is good and cheap, they don't accept credit cards so bring cash. Your list of breweries you are going to is pretty good but you left out probably the best brewery in Denver. Great Divide is downtown and their beer, IMO, is the best Colorado has to offer. If you go to their tasting room they give you a few free samples. If you like hoppy bear try Hurcules.

Yeah, I'll ride the bowls almost exclusively. That's part of why I picked A-Basin. My favorite place in CO that I've been for boarding are the Vail Back Bowls/Blue Sky Basin. I saw that A-Basin opened a huge bowl and have a high speed lift back there, so that's right up my alley. I check the snow report about once a week, and they just keep getting snow.

Great Divide is great from what I've experienced, and will definitely add it to our list, since it will be close. I love hoppy beer, so Hurcules sounds awesome.

If you're a beer guy, head to Falling Rock Tap House in LoDo,tons of stuff you'll never find in the Midwest.

Snooze is the best place in town for breakfast, but be prepared for a long wait unless you go on a weekday. It is worth it.

I know it is St. Pats, but if you need a marg, go to The Rio Grande.

I'm cool with local chains. I just don't want to eat anywhere I can eat in Des Moines.

Just looked at the online menu for Snooze. Sounds great. Have to hit that on Friday.

Montezuma Bowl at A - Basin is absolutely incredible. Some great blacks that go through clear areas, rocky areas, and heavily treed areas. When I went (in the middle of the week, 1st week in Jan) it was pretty dead which was great, but I hear the place is pretty low key most of the time anyway.

The snow was great, as was the weather (for early Jan anyway). But I hear that it gets ridiculously windy at times, and if cloudy, the place is pretty brutal. Pretty sure you will be golden in mid March, hope you have a good one!

The breakfast burrito is what caught my eye, but I love me some good hash (corned beef variety of course).
 
I just got back from skiing Breck this past Saturday. All of the resorts have had a TON of snow, we were skiing with 80+ inches of base late last week and it snowed 7+ while we were there Thurs pm- Fri.

Have a great time and as others have said be safe. Nothing wrong with a little nip of some Irish spirit to get you in the mood for St Paddy's day. I did hear that there was someone who was killed at A-Basin last week while we were there. Sounded like a freak accident and too much speed so again come home safe.

We stayed in Breck and ate/drank at the Breckenridge brewery and their Small batch 471 IPA is great. if you get a chance to stop there in LoDo it is worth the time.

SingSing Piano bar is a good time, not sure how it compares with the other bars mentioned expecially on Paddy's day.
 
At A-bay in the Montezuma bowl head to the far left (skiiers left) to hit some awesome trees. Hike skiers right to hit some nice pow (or ice depending on the day). The trees stay pretty clear of ice however. I was there a few weeks ago on the day that they opened up the east face. Some nice pow (and rocks if you are not careful) on the east face on most days.

As far as Denver, hit either The Cherry Cricket or the Jack-N-Grill for an amazing burger. There is a place just off of speer (west of I-25) called La Loma that has the best homemade tortillas. There are some great restaurants in Boulder as well if you dont mind taking a drive. I have been to The Black Cat Bistro in Boulder and it is fantastic (although a little pricey). Site below.

Vesta Dipping Grill. I am a freak about dipping sauces, and it is all they do.

I think I may have a thread from 2008 where lots of people gave recommendations, but I can't find it. Seriously, Vesta.
 
Park Burger is good, a new location opened up too. Two total. Rivals Cherry Cricket. Highlands has a ton of restaurants. Euclid Hall has some great pub food in Lodo. The Food truck scene is picking up and will be pretty big downtown during a weekday. A lot of good trucks to try there. I wanted to try Shondiz myself for a Turkish Doner kebab (similar to gyro). Buffalo Doughboy has some good savory and sweet pastries. Lots of popular breakfast places: The Edge, Snooze, Gaia Bistro.

If you're feeling cheap and ethnic and want the real, gritty, legitimately authentic stuff -
Lots of authentic Vietnamese food on Federal @ Mississippi. Star Kitchen has a good Hong Kong Dim Sum scene for lunch. Lots of Mexican stuff along Federal Dr. Indian and Korean food in Aurora. Ethiopian on E. Colfax.

lol. I was driving through denver today and saw a "Best Ever Fried Catfish" truck. Not sure I want to eat fried fish out of a truck.
