Defense played horrible

Don’t be a simpleton.

The three home run plays were very unlike this defense, but 27 points isn’t bad.
Sadly, outside of those 3 plays, they played very well, but that’s not how it works.

In general, in the big 12 I see it as a defense's job to keep the opponent's offense from scoring 30 points, and the offense's job to net 30 or over.

Today our defense held their offense to 27, our offense had a net of 20. This loss was on the offense, particularly when OSU is generally considered good offensively and not so good defensively.

Defense gave up 27 pts in a high possession game, gave the offense in a really short field and got put in some tough spots by the offense.

That wasn't some crappy offense they were going against.

In the first half I agree the defense could not even line up correctly which gave up two big plays but in the 2nd half the defense played as well as it can against a team with the best rusher in all of college football....

Adjustments at half were good and the defense did the job in the 2nd half and only gave up two field goals.

The offense was given ample opportunities to not only get a lead but extend it.

Defense did enough to win, period. Big plays in the first half obviously but held them to 6 pts in the 2nd half. Not their fault the offense forgot about the run game and couldn’t figure out a decent counter to a blitz heavy scheme.
