It was but does anyone know what it was about?
The assistance were out of the coaching box, trying to get more time put back on the clock in, or was shouting that that should be a technical. In the handshake line, they brought it back up, and Johnny took offense.

I believe he only had 4 points, but he defended 7-ft Brad Lohaus. It was an amazing victory

right. Virgil was listed at 6'4", but if he was that tall, he might have weighed about 170, and he played great d on Lohaus.

At that time you could by tickets for games when the students were on break. That game and Kansas were part of the package. Did we beat Danny Manning at that time? Anyway it was completely crazy, lots of fun.
Go Cyclones.

I was more impressed with how Ron matched up with Roy Tarpley (RIP) of Michigan to get us to the Sweet 16. If the other team was going to fast break 3-on-1 vs ISU, two of the most effective defenders I watched at ISU were Ron Virgil (dude had looooonnnng arms) or Jeff Hornacek.

I believe so because if I remember right Danny Manning never won a game in Ames.
I was working in Wisconsin at the time and was coming home or going to work and stopped on a top of a hill and heard the end of the game.

This is correct. Manning never won as a player in Hilton.

Forgot about the Iowa assistant trying to attack Johnny after the game. We were going wild so I missed it.

That was just an amazing game…an added bonus for me was I won a $50 bet with a friend re the spelling of Mr Rhodes’ first name. His choice is commemorated with every post I do here.
You need to post more!!
