DeAndre Kane visiting next week

yes, not getting either Hogue or Amardi would hurt big time. We need long athleticism and without one of those guys, we may have trouble in that area.

Losing Amardi would hurt more than Hogue. We have more than enough depth to cover up his loss, if he's the one leaving.

Honestly, as much as it would suck losing one of the JUCO's, I think that would be best case scenario. It would free up another 2014 scholarship and it might allow Fred to offer someone like Babb.
Unless it's Amardi who was a 1 year player anyway(pending waiver). Good point though.

Here is what I heard today. We are going to get Kane and one of the Jucos (I won't say who) isn't coming. Take it for what its worth. Pretty good source. If I am wrong don't chastise me.

You're asking me to give up my right to chastise?

This is what tyranny looks like.

Completely agree. Losing Amardi would REALLY hurt big time IMO. Hogue can be replaced IMO.
Based on what? Hogue is an excellent defender and scored more points per game than amardi as well. He also played 10 more minutes a game. Hogue is not someone we want to "replace" especially running a shorter lineup.

I don't want to lose either one, but between the two, I think we need the athletic 6'9" guy a lot more. Just my opinion.

I'm not sold on Gibson at all. Booker is gone. Niang is not a 5. Who knows if Edozie will be able to provide anything?

Talk about playing small.... if Amardi doesn't make it here. Yikes.

And just going by what people said that saw Indian Hills play this year, they thought Amardi looked like the better prospect.

We played Niang mostly at the 5 last year and Ejim at the 4 and it seemed to work out well. Gibson/Booker didn't log a ton of minutes in close games.

Fred's system isn't the standard need a natural 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. Pretty much need 4 of 5 guys that can shoot and a couple of those guys that can guard opposing bigs

Oh, and if Deandre Kane is wanted by Pitt and Memphis, he can't be too shabby. Yes, he's 2 inches shorter than Hogue, but if Kane can play the point he might be more valuable.

Neither would Hogue in all likelihood. Nader has a better outside shot and better handles than Hogue. Hogue may have been a better defender and more rugged on the boards
Now I think you have no idea what you are talking about. Hogue is a quenicential 3 and driving the lane is what he does, just not a good outside shooter. I like both guys too but losing Hogue is not good for next years team period.

Unless SDW kills it at SF, it forces us to play Ejim primarily at the 3 which might be fine but Amardi and Gibson will have to play great to make up for that loss. Fred will not play a 6'4" exclusively at the 3.
