David Ubben driving me crazy

I just think the little troll needs to give us a little more respect. 41-28 at home? He hasn't even watched us play this year. But then again, he's really not a Big 12 blogger, he's mainly just a Texas/OU shill with the other southern teams mixed in a little.

I don't know, in his chat the other day he couldn't seem to shut up about Grandpa Bill and his mildcats.

Guy just follows the hot stories (which makes sense). I doubt we'll see much Baylor coverage post-RG3, unless they really get hot again.

IMO the skeptics will remain until our offense puts together one or two complete games. So goes our offense, so goes the season. I think we have a really good defense again, and as the competition increases we'll see just how good.

I really don't want to be the favorites because it's uncharted territory for us. Don't want it jinxing us.

This guy is predicting texastech to score 41 points against isu Saturday. I usually keep my mouth shut about "expert" predictions but this guy is putting out mindless garbage. Tommy tuberville hasn't sniffed a W against Iowa state. How is Texas tech going score 41points against a top big12 defense, also might I mention they are on the road.

I mean at some point you have to look at this and say this guy is a total clown he puts no effort into looking into this program.

Rant over now I can enjoy my Thursday here is the link to his predictions

Sounds like someone needs more things to fill out their day....

just out of curiosity, why the constant dangerfield impressions? how many points did tulsa put up? do you think tech O is better than tulsa? how about qbs? how many points did isu give up last year in games???

i think ISU has a good defense, but if the O stalls every drive, we'll get smoked...only way tech doesn't outscore us is if the clones dominate the clock...sorry, but its true. they will score...and likely score in bunches if the D is on the field on night.

No way am I an Ubben fan, but he does not give much love to ISU. Even this week, ISU has been an after-thought in his columns after writing about TTU. That said, I don't pay much attention anymore to what he says. We just need to prove it on the field consistently if we want the so called pundits to pay respect to us.

First, Ubben touted our record of almost never being favored, but being ~.500 since CPR took over after the Tulsa game, and said he wouldn't underestimate us anymore. Then he picked Iowa to beat us. Now he's picking Tech. I'm not sure if he even takes himself seriously.

Second, our defense is definitely top 3 in the conference. We had among the best defenses in the conference last year and I've seen nothing to make me think we're not even better this year because: 1) It is a more veteratan defense than last year, 2) the core of the defense is back (A.J./Jake) and these guys are football geniuses, 3) The defensive line was somewhat iffy last year and it is clear that this unit is WAY deeper than last year, with what looks like better talent, and 4) the biggest drop off was going to be in the secondary, but these guys are looking great this year and no drop-off has been apparent yet. From this, I definitely don't see a drop off from last year and these guys might turn out to be quite a bit better. So, top 3 B12 defense.

Rhoads has Tommy's number. And that highly touted O from Lubbock just may struggle some on a cool night in Ames, IA. I'm taking the good guys for the 3rd straight year!

I don't think that there's any way they score 41 unless it goes to OT. ISU's D is decent...good enough to keep TT under 30 unless the O hands them the ball a bunch of times. IMO the first team to 30 wins.

BTW, I DO think that ISU's DBs are top half of the conference, if not higher. And the LBs are right up there at or near #1.

Ubben never steps out, he always makes the safe pick. Iowa State under CPR thrives on being the underdog, so personally I'm happy when we get picked to lose. Relish being the underdog.
That is a very good point. He's such a poor analyst and is so unsure of himself, there is no way he'll take a bold or unpopular pick for fear it will make him even less popular. . . which is barely possible.

Well nobody is going to be any happier with Ubbs this morning. He just officially went all in on the Raiders in his blog post. Not just predicting a win, but a dominating coming out performance for Doege against our D.
