Darius McNeill visiting Sep 3rd

Can't imagine what criteria he is still missing in your book if your scenario above comes to fruition in some way. Tough crowd!

A couple Natties? :D

I guess I'm reserving judgment at that point to see how that talent and the roster develops once the "Fred" works its way out completely after next year.

I wasn't sure how he'd do recruiting here, particularly without TJ around.

He's doing really well. Check--even if Lewis still had some TJ on him. :p

Next step? Take it, mold it, built it into a winner on the court without Monte, Naz, Matt, and Deonte around. We won't know how that one works out for 2-3 years, though.

If (and I am trying to highlight the conditional phrasing here)...

Our high school class coming in next year is...

Lewis
Feazell
McNeill
+ one of the high school point guards

...then so many of my concerns about the present staff's ability to recruit high school and prep talent is going to go away and, while we will be really young after this year, we should be very talented and ready to fight ourselves back up the standings quickly.

We seemed to do fine with transfers and JUCOs last year. Keep using those to supplement, and you kind of have to at Iowa State given some of our disadvantages and one big advantage--the reputation that Fred built of Ames as Focus Town/Transfer U... and this might work out alright. Nothing for sure now, obviously, but...

My confidence in Prohm in the long-term has gone way up these past few weeks.

I'd say just McNeil with Lewis and Feazell and whoever else they want to add would tell me that Prohm can recruit well enough for o keep us in thr top of the conference. I'm not worried any more.

Prohm sure likes a "lefty" for PG. The kid has a nice little floater. Explosive with the jam. I'm going to trust the staff on this one. ISU recruiting is going quite well so I'll let all the pieces come together as they see fit. This is Prohm ball after all. Not Hoiball.

Can't beat this day for a visiting recruit. Late game, so hang out around the basketball coaches, players, and facility in the morning, then go have fun walking around the tailgate with the current players.

Other students, and fans, will show much love when they see Monte, Naz, and Burton walking around the lots.
