Darius Lee Campbell update?

I would put him more in the Bret Meyer category. Just depends on how well he can throw. Campbell is 6'2" and 200 lbs. Meyer ran a 4.5 and was 6'3" but was just a little smaller at 180.

I was basing more of my comments off of video of DLC from last year. His Hudl vids show more emphasis on his throwing, and he does look taller (young fellers grow from Jr to Sr seasons in HS. Gotta remember that). Don't think he is 6'3", but could be wrong & he could still grow more.

If you so choose, you have to click on the links for each individual game for the 2013 season on the Hudl link. When he does run (vs the Klein schools he has more highlights of runs), he shows more elusiveness than Meyer (I think Meyer had straight-ahead speed, but was not shifty laterally). Probably not as elusive as Seneca. At best, he could be a hybrid of the two (which could be pretty darn good). Have not found his statistics for 2013 yet.

Very good prospect. 247 Recruiting shows offers from TCU & Colorado. Low 80's score & 3 star. 4 predictions have him to the good guys.

Woody Dantzler, but taller. He needs a capable QB coach and he could be very good, just like the other 4 guys on the roster.

A little bit of both. I'll take that for sure.

Not sure why but have a good feeling about this one. Probably my need to have a good feeling about something ;)

He was a junior college player, and other schools wanted him as a potential defensive back rather than a QB. He ran a 4.5 40, but he was short. He was a good running QB, but more so when plays broke down. But he also ran to lengthen throwing plays, and he was a very capable pocket passer. Anyone know who I am referring to?

I'd say this guy, from coming out of HS, would be more similar to this, not any other QB. Whether he can throw a very nice ball & have accuracy on the move would be the difference, but that could improved coming out of HS and developing over a couple years, if necessary (and possible with the proper coaching).

Waye Terry or Doug Flutie

What was Arnaud's 40 time??? On rivals it says Darius runs a 4.5. I could very well be wrong but Arnaud wasnt anywhere close to that was he?
Maybe on his moped! Didn't he ride a purple and black Spree?

I don't really care so much about the offers--but he's a tremendous athlete for a "two star" quarterback.

Are you saying that you don't care about HIS offers or do you not put a whole lot of emphasis on offer lists? Not trying to be a d*** but just curious

I don't put a whole lot of weight on "offers". A lot of the time, guys have a lot of offers just because they're decent, have good grades, and a lot of schools know about them. And vice versa.

This kid has crazy athleticism. I had to chuckle at whoever compared him to Bret Meyer. We'll just have to see what kind of a passer he is--assuming he commits to the good guys.

And with this reference, you are now my favorite CF poster. I was thinking a little more Major Harris.

Yeah, the kid can really run. Tough to tell what kind of arm he really has, but if QB doesn't work out, there's always a home for someone that athletic. To me, it depends on what kind of offense ISU wants to run (ie new OC). If we're going all in on the pistol, I can't think of a kid that is more similar to Kaepernick..at least that ISU has recruited.

Yeah that was me...and why the chuckle?

The fact that the last 3 qbs we have recruited have all been Duel threats that tend to be strong runners shows that the spread option is the way Rhoads wants to go. Unless we keep gaining speed on the outside and more bulk on the oline, we will struggle. I think that is why Rhoads has been trying to recruit faster and faster players accross the board because he realizes that speed tends to trump overall strength in this league. With regards to the oline, ISU can't recruit the guys who are already college ready so we have to bulk them up and when injuries happen, especially to the degree they have this year, it forces us to put guys less ready for showtime. I hope people are right about Lanning being the future. ISU needs a guy that can force a first down with his feet when needed but is also compitant to make a ten yard pass and be consistantly accurate.

By "vice-versa", do you mean they don't have a lot of offers they are NOT decent players or do NOT have good grades or a lot of schools do NOT know about them? Because if so, this would be dead on. That's why you get offers. And I want guys with a lot of offers. Offers are programs making bets on guys. If no one else is willing to do that, I'm suspect as to why we would and believe the guy is all we could do. Yes, guys turn out-Jake Knott, blah blah. But there is a reason stars correlate to offers. offers are the best measure in a very difficult-to-measure world. And teams that recruit guys with stars/offers win the most.

I'm not relating it to this guy-he does have offers. I'm simply responding to your statement about not putting weight on offers.

This info was free last night for an hour, can I talk about it, if it was available for everyone at that time?
