Darien Williams is a Cyclone

If I a little late on this sorry. But since he's not coming till '15 and will be at a juco still, we still have 2 more scholarships available. Essentially DW will be filling BDJ's scholarship.

Wow I hadn't thought of that. I was counting us down to one open scholarships, but you're right.

So we could actually have another week like this. I'm going to have to learn to rosterbate with either hand.

How serious is this shoulder surgery? Sounds like he will miss significant playing time next year so when he arrives at ISU he might be a little rusty?

If he is having what I think he is having based on the way he described it, it is serious. It is a surgery you can put off but it only makes the problem worse. Basically they cut and retie the shoulder ligaments and muscles shorter and tighter. My sockets was warn open both ways so nothing holding it in but the muscles. I was in a half body cast for 10 weeks my sophomore year and out of every activity all year. I never gained full mobility of that arm (that's kind of the point, my right arm goes up 6 inches higher than my left). So if it is the same surgery he could lose some wing span and will have major physical therapy work to do.

DW set his official to ISU. (just didn't want it to get missed with the Diallo visit being set.)

Travis Hines@TravisHines21 19 mins Iowa State 2015 commit Darien Williams will make his official visit to Ames on Sept. 6, a source tells the Ames Tribune.

I'm really, really excited for this kid. Hoping the rehab goes perfectly. Can't wait to see him on the court.

I attend nearly every IWCC home game, this kid along with McKay will give ISU a combo of athleticism and length like we haven't had in my 3 decades plus of watching ISU bball. I can't wait to see what Morris does running the court with those 2 gazelles. The LA Clippers may have to hand over the "Lob City" moniker.
