Darien Williams is a Cyclone

After reading about this kid, it looked like there would be intense high major competition for him. This is huge!
Yep. And with him announcing the redshirt, his value goes up a lot.
Huge get, probably even bigger for us than other programs based on what we like to do with our posts.

It is also huge to get this commitment now so the staff has a better idea on how to use the remaining two scholarships this spring.

I think he is one of the absolute best juco players of the 2015 class.

He's a lot like McKay...Morris will be throwing lots a lot of lobs the next few years. You rarely get a chance to RS a juco kid like this, he's going to be a beast in 2 years.

How serious is this shoulder surgery? Sounds like he will miss significant playing time next year so when he arrives at ISU he might be a little rusty?

I'm kind of curious about that too. It's not like the shoulder isn't important for shooting a good shot.:pcool:

It sounded like it wasn't too serious but yes it sucks he has to take some time off. The article said he isn't sure where he'll spend his last year of CC. I hope he stays in Council Bluffs.

I'm surprised nobody is whining about him not being a high school recruit.

Nope, but shows once again that we have some of the best JUCO/transfer recruiters in the country. I'd take BDJ and Williams over a Vaughn commitment without thinking twice.

Also, anyone know if Williams' shoulder surgery is on his right or left, or more importantly, shooting or non-shooting?

@Trey_Scott3: Darien Williams: "We went to the Sweet Sixteen .. barely tipping what we can do. This is a national program. We've got to get to the top."

You would think he will stay at Iowa Western to keep his scholarship. I doubt any other JuCo will give him a scholarship to not play for them. That would be silly on their part.

Why am I recognizing the name of the CC he's coming from? Did we have another transfer from there recently? I can't remember...but the name rings a bell.
