I did notice the higher level far to the east last night. It’s not obvious to the casual viewer, I think. Even so, as I drive by on University Blvd. it gives me a brief pause to envision a roaring downpour when all this ground moving is finished.

They did raise the D lots several feet in some places.
The dirt piles are probably going to be used for the remaining work on C, B, and A lots.
But I thought those (including our regular tailgate lot) weren't going to be redone this summer...?
As I understand it, they are going to do the west half next year. The pile of dirt may be stockpiling. However, they may use some more of the dirt as they get some of the C lots ready for this season.
FYI, they have not even torn up C-3 yet, even though they are working on C-4, 5, and 6.
Seriously. The Tennessee development is not even in the same category as CyTown. Or maybe the really bad report is what makes it seem extra lame.

An entertainment district on top of a parking garage sounds weird. Maybe it will be great, but it will be disjointed.
Can't compete with Cytown from the standpoint of it just flowing to the stadiums. Tailgate by the alumni building, wander around a bit and boom, I am in Cytown, wander a bit more and there is the plaza north of Jack Trice. Look, here comes the marching band.
It's gonna be great for weddings. I've been to weddings at Scheman, Alumni, Reiman, MU and it would have been awesome.
In those pictures, it did not appear that the lots were raised, but I am positive they were. Sometimes the angles or limited view of the picture does not always show what is really happening.
Does anyone know if the Tunnel(s) going under the road towards Hilton and Cy Stephens will be filled in? Or will they still exist?

If they do fill in the tunnels under Center Drive, I wonder what they will do to protect Hilton from flooding. These tunnels may have saved Hilton from even worse flooding in 2010. I remember water just shooting out of the tunnels because of the water pressure in the "bowl" around Hilton formed by the Center Drive berm.
Power and light in KC is sort of that way a bunch of underground parking though instead of above ground.
Yeah, so Power and Light feels like part of the surrounding neighborhood. Seems like UTs thing will seem like an out of the way place to get too. Still really nice I'm sure, but I much prefer how Cytown will feel like its just part of a bigger tailgating experience.
From what I understand, the areas where the buildings are going to be will be raised 5 feet, but the parking areas will not. They will be raised slightly, but the goal is to keep the buildings out of the flood zone.

This project includes, but is not limited to, construction of replacement parking with new lighting and installation of underground infrastructure, which would include new water, power, gas, telecommunications, storm sewer, and sanitary lines to support future development. The project would also relocate the CyRide Transit Hub and raise a portion of the site above 100-year flood plain of Ioway Creek.

I'm guessing most college stadiums don't have the space around them for something like CyTown. We're lucky from that standpoint. Most have like 1-2 small high $$ donor lots by the stadium and that's it. Jack Trice is very unique with how much parking is right by the stadium.
And with the river on the other side of this new structure, the possibilities are endless.
