They've literally never pulled off a football game.
A few years ago they had people in Hilton and we're going to show the UT game on the screens. Didn't work. I love Walters but the project, from a football standpoint, has been a complete disaster.
A few years ago the camera work was horrible. Give them time!
Texas game blacked out for a half. Blame ESPN/Texas and give them time!
Train wreck of an opening to this season. Blame the new provider and give them time!
Bull. Cyclones.tv cannot handle a football game.
It is now four days later (including two business days) and I have yet to see any sort of after-the-fact acknowledgment or apology from either Cyclones.tv or Sidearm Sports. The refund was prompt, but I was expecting to see an email to me as a CTV subscriber apologizing, describing steps taken to ensure this won't happen again, blah blah blah.
Did anyone see something like that? This just seems like such a half-assed thing already and this small thing that could smooth over relations with subscribers would be so easy to do - but without it, Cyclones.tv continues to look very small time IMO.

So as suspected they were completely unprepared for a live event stream. That is a different response than they gave ISU at least at first (the crash or however they put it). At least they have been fairly forth coming and I think they are doing a pretty good job, but I get the feeling its still a small operation.
I eventually got in. I missed the 1st 6 minutes of the game. I was significantly upset when I tried to get in 20 minutes before kickoff and couldnt get in, primarily because my kids and I were so excited about watching the game. Then I saw the "bummer" look on their face when I told them the site crashed. I cooled off greatly when I all of a sudden got in and Iowa State was up by 7 already. I'll spare you the emotional disaster than evolved over the night, but to wake up the next morning and seeing an unprompted refund of my game day pass was enough for me to be satisfied. Not to mention, my video feed and picture was outstanding throughout the evening. I was even going Iphone to HDMI cable to TV.
So to me, the unprompted refund of the fee was by far a better acknowledgement of fault then an apology letter.

They spent about 15 minutes talking about it and more or less apologizing on the call in show this week. They brought in Tyler Rutherford from Cyclones.tv to explain what happened as well.
I streamed the Gopher game via BIG network on my iphone with HDMI to TV. Now that is bad, every "timeout" went to a Blue Screen that read BIG Network. No commercials, no Hyvee, No Iowa Corn. I was thankful for atleast something to keep me awake. I can not recall how many times I fell asleep during the commercials during Thursday nights Gopher game.
I would much prefer to that to hearing about the corn-fed bacon cheeseburger thats the talk of the tailgate every commercial break.
My SIII wouldn't work via HDMI cable. Took it to Best Buy, and the guy there couldn't get mine to work, nor his new phone. Can't remember the brand, but he tried a different adapter and still no dice.
Was odd but kind of glad I couldn't watch in a lot of ways.

I have a much higher-tolerance with technology issues than most, since that's what I deal with on a daily-basis at work. I was very impressed with the production-quality (when the game was on) and felt they put together a pretty good product.
That being said, I was very disappointed when the feed cut out for me during UNI's opening drive. Like others have stated - there have been issues consistently. They NEED to load test multiple times prior to kickoff and find a reliable solution. Thankfully, it was only down for a few minutes and I was able to get the app to stream to my AppleTV and didn't have any issues for the rest of the game.
Streaming for most people sounds like a relatively easy process, since anyone can use a product like YouTube, Twitch, or other applications, but Cyclones.TV cannot operate on this same platform. They require dedicated servers, which I'm sure are hosted elsewhere and are "rented" on gameday, which would explain the relatively quick turnaround (I'm sure that didn't seem quick for most of you - but that was a nice recovery). If there is one positive out of this fiasco, it shows what the demand is for Cyclones.TV. I would be interested to see how many complaints came in, as that would be a good way to measure the demand for future games.

Big question is whether they will have learned anything or if the Texas game will be another clusterfuck. I am very hesitant to set up an alumni gamewatch at a sports bar and have it not work.
Used cyclone.tv for last years gamewatch at a big sports bar and it worked just fine and I cannot imagine that last years demand was signifnacntly less then this years that the new contracted dopes couldn't handle.

If they show more than 2 quarters it's better than last time.
Is this another situation where it can't be streamed out of state or whatever junk they pulled last time
