We did a Cyclone room quite a few years ago before the change in logo. Back then the ISU Bookstore sold Iowa State wallpaper (I'd imagine that they still do now too). We used the wallpaper to go around the room at the top leaving about a foot from the ceiling. Above the wallpaper was painted yellow and below the wallpaper was painted red. I would upload a pic but I am away from home. Hope this helps!
Just throwing it out there. But how about having someone paint a wall with a picture of the field and giant scoreboard of when we beat Okie State this season? Obviously this is on the extreme end, but I imagine that won't be something ever painted over and it will be kind of a way to call dibs on it for when he goes off to college. But look around they make custom throw rugs, bed spreads etc.

I had a rough time getting the exact right colors. Someone on this forum said before that you can go to Menards and ask for Iowa State red and get a real good match. I think one of the paint companies (Glidden?) has a complete line of paint specifically matched to officially licensed university colors.
I couldn't find either of those options down here, so I matched the color from the trademark page to a Sherwin-Williams color. I found the can in my garage. It was ColorAccents Latex Satin interior paint in color #6871 "Positive Red" (Paint Color SW6871 Positive Red - Sherwin-Williams) and it came out about dead-nuts-on.
Also, Milliken makes rugs that look like JTS field or the Hilton floor.
You can have them ordered at Lowes.
We used to have carpet with the ISU logo all over it, but I'm not sure if they have it now with the new logo.
We did the office room in our house a year or two ago. Color match paint from home depot and a lot of time on my hands. Two walls cardinal, two walls gold with white trim, door, and window coverings (matches the rest of the house). Fight song wraps around the room near the ceiling and several collectible items in the room. Large wall has a ticket stub collage of games attended (at least a few games, far from all games I've ever attended. Trouble uploading photo at this time, but will try soon.
