Cy-Hawk Series

I really don't care about who wins the Cy-Hawk series, is that bad? It seems dumb to me.

If ISU just won football, and mens and womens basketball, and lost everything else to Iowa every year, I'd be happy.

I'd like to win wrestling too, but I know that's probably not likely to ever happen again, so I just don't care about it anymore. JP has given up on wrestling it seems.

conflicting statement with a jab at JP. Well done clonedude, you continue to be you!

The way it was described on channel 13, ties go to the school who won it previously, so we won.

ISU:

More students than any other school in the state.
Consistently beating or equaling other schools in sport.
Receives less money per student for funding than Iowa.

ISU is the University for Iowa.

If that money shift ever happens .... so many wrongs will be righted and the sound of butthurt from the East will be impressive.

Wut? All I said was that I only really care about football, and mens and womens basketball. And then I added that I would like to care about wrestling, but since JP doesn't seem to care to make our wrestling program competitive, then I'm not really going to bother caring about that either..... until we decide to try being competitive in that again.

I don't see the issue you're having with that stance?

I hope you don't mind if I steal this post for FB.

Are you positive about the bolded? I ask because I thought DMACC was over 40,000. Could be just a technicality.

There is, but the academic portion is only one point.

I think the academic portion can be 0, 1, or 2 total points. If the student-athlete graduation rate exceeds the general graduation rate than either or both school can earn the point. For this year (last spring) Iowa earned the point and ISU did not so it was just 1 point that went to Iowa

The only reason - and I mean only - that the money shift won't happen is because eastern Iowa/Johnson County state legislators know that UI's budget would plummet if the funds were distributed fairly and they won't allow it to happen

So the fact that the money is split so unfairly actually protects it from changing because UI couldn't afford to absorb the new fair split without huge changes

I get that... so each year send more of the funds for 'growth' each year to ISU compared to UI, until it matches.
