With ISU shutting out the Hawks on the softball field this afternoon, this years series will end in a 12-12 tie (unless there is some tiebreaker Im not aware of). We have not lost this thing in 3 years.

Yeah, usually both schools get the academic point, but I think it was only awarded to the Hawks. Did we not get it this year, or is it yet to be assigned?

I'll say this, it made me pay attention to the softball game today.

It's nice to be the premier sports program in the state ;)

"Iowa 0" is trending on Twitter:

Does anyone know the explanation of the academic point?

Graduation rate for student athletes exceeds the overall student body rate. So either we need smarter athletes or a dumber overall student body.

Good for ISU you don't have baseball. Kill your wrestling program and you'll clean up in this thing every year.

What genius decided there should be an even number of total points?

Well in the athletic portion there is an odd number since each competition is worth 2 points except FB which is worth 3. But when one school gets the academic point (1) and the other doesn't it puts it back at even.

I would assume ISU's APR going up is a sign that they will likely get the academic point next year.

Trophy for this now will reside in Ames for 3 years straight.

Or we could setup a bunch of fake classes to boost the graduation rate. Apparently that's not a big deal in the eyes of the NCAA.
