Cy Hawk Rivalry

I'd rather play a team that if we beat we get credit for instead of a Big Ten West team

Any SEC team or really any other team that wouldn't make it a lose/lose situation for us

Sounds familiar
I'm saying the narrative has flipped, but back then Iowa fan's clung to the all-time record and the glory days in the 80's. Matt Campbell hasn't beat Iowa yet but if / when he does this year, Iowa fans will say he's 1-3 against KF. Even if he wins the next 3, Iowa fans will then revert back to all time record. I'm not saying you will or that other Hawk fans on here will (besides Walmart) but that will be an argument heard.

Those Hawk fans claiming Purdy will regress might remember that he was thrown into the fire - under extremely dire circumstances - as a true freshman with no game experience.

That he succeeded at such a high level leads me to believe he will improve, especially since he will learn to read defenses.

I would also give CMC a huge gold star for the Heacock hire. He has taken this defense to levels unheard of at Iowa State, and everyone in the Big 12 has noticed. Of the top 20 Big 12 draft possibilities next year, three were from the ISU defense (Bailey, Lima, Eisworth). For the first time in a long time, it's actually fun to watch the Clones when they don't have the ball.

These games (Cy/Hawk rivalry) never seem to go how you think they will, but I'm fairly confident this season.

I'm still mad Barta said no to letting us get out of the series for two years to do a home and home with Arkansas

Would ticket prices for the Arkansas game be priced like Iowa or ULM?

I see on the secondary markets Iowa tickets are starting at $150 while all other games are below $50.

Yikes

Ticket prices for the Iowa-Iowa State game is always very high to start out with because people from the opposite team travel to go to the game. I paid more money for the Iowa State game @ Iowa last year than I did when I went to the Iowa - Michigan game a few years ago with my buddy.

You do realize those are two different things right?

Great but that wasn’t the question. Would Arkansas really generate more in terms of ticket demand than the Iowa game? If not then what is isu trying to gain by replacing the Iowa game?

I understand where some Iowa fans get the idea that Purdy will regress. We've had QB's come in over the last few seasons and have a great few games but then crumble later and get switched out with someone else. The small difference with CMC's guys is that Park was really good until he turned into a head case and left the team. He would have still been good had that not happened and that wasn't Campbell's fault. I truly think Kempt could have won us 7-8 games last year, but we would not have been in a position to win 9 like we were with Purdy. Brock Purdy is different than all three of those QB's.. he's better. He was sought after by two blue blood coaches and has the natural talent to be something very special. If Iowa fans want to hang their hat on Purdy being a bust they're in for a rude awakening on that second weekend in September.

What is there to realize? Iowa is priced at multiples to any other game on the isu schedule. What is isu trying to gain by dumping Iowa in favor of Arkansas as CyTwins claims?
You reference secondary markets to follow your question regarding what the tickets would be priced at numbnuts

I don’t think Purdy will regress. I think his success will 100% hinge on how good the isu OL is.

I don't think twins was arguing whether or not the Arkansas ticket would be more sought after than the Iowa ticket. I think he was saying he'd rather play Arkansas because it's something different. I respectfully disagree, but that's alright.

I mean I wouldn't say 100% but I'll agree that his ceiling is incredibly higher with a better O-line. Our O-line was pretty bad at times last year and Purdy was still ranked as the 2nd best freshman QB in the nation.

That makes sense if isu fans don’t price tickets below what they paid for them for on the secondary market.

Are there really face value tickets for isu games at $6 and $8? Interesting concept for sure if that is true.

I truly don't understand your logic here. I got tickets for an Iowa game last year for $5 each from someone. It's whatever someone is willing to sell the ticket for and they wanted to get rid of the ticket.
