Cy Hawk Rivalry

I'm sorry you don't have basic command of the English language. It wasn't a simple gramatical error. Your post conveyed that Kirk instructed AC to punch the cab driver. I was simply pointing out how stupid that sounded.

Ok, got it, now back to the real topic, How long should the player be suspended, if at all?

My point was being his second offense, that according to rules followed by Iowa that should be a 3 game suspension. I think a half is more than fair, but Iowa fans like to be critical on how ISU reprimands its athletes, example being how it allowed 3 players to play in the Iowa game last year after the first game was cancelled.

So what is it over there in Eastern Iowa, just talk, or is he going to be suspended for 3 games for a second offense? I would think a half is fine, but I am not the coach.

What rules are you talking about here?

I'm thinking some extra conditioning would suffice.

Fair enough, I only said a half, because it was his second run in with the ICPD. If it was his first time, extra conditioning would have been fine. But to each his own.

It was a run in. It's not like it was some odious reprehensible offense. He was in the bar like almost EVERY other under 21 student in Iowa City on a Friday night. He was just unlucky enough to get caught.

Are bars that popular in IC? I look back and I probably went into a bar probably once every 2-3 weeks when I was old enough. Didnt have a fake so I didn’t go until I was 21. The few times I was in bars underage was either back home or the few times I went to UNI. Definitely wasn’t every week.

So, kind of like when Jason Berryman was in a bar the day before his 21st birthday, not drinking, but there, and he broke up a fight between another player and someone else. His last strike if I remember correctly. Was issued a ticket for being in the bar under age after curfew.

So you would rather beat Iowa than OU or Texas? That is what you are saying here. Danny Mac, made a living beating Iowa, what did it do for the team? Ending the losing streak was great and then starting one of his own. But in the grand scheme of things the Iowa game is near the bottom of it. Great for talking smack and helping with instate recruiting, but aside from that, it does nothing in the conference.

We as a program have to start thinking bigger than beating Iowa, Campbell is doing that, I just wish some in the fan base would also start thinking along those lines.

Iowa the FAKE ID OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL.

No sir. The only importance the Iowa game has here is if we win, the roaches will be disappear for a while.

You’ve been a fan long enough to remember that Mac beating Iowa was the be all end all. It’s tornado Mac that tries to frame this game in a manner of importance to try to glorify a coach that hasn’t been here for 12 years, because beating mostly bad Iowa teams was his greatest claim to success, all the way to his last press conference

Yes. At least when I was in school. Granted I was usually behind the bar, so my opinion may be a bit biased.

So now the grammar police are here, Freerents starting DE punched out a cabbie. The lord and savor of Iowa football had no preknowledge of the event, but he sure as hell backed the player and did not suspend him for any playing time. I think the phrase was "handled in-house", and we will let the courts decide this issue.

Kirk has pretty long, and disgusting tradition of handling things in house.

So this is the guys second alcohol related charge? Is that right?

Wasnt he on probation though?

I wouldnt consider being cited for being in a bar after 10 PM an alcohol related charge. He wasnt cited for possession of alcohol under the legal age.

You can interpret it how you want though.
