Cy Hawk Rivalry

What was knocking all your RBs out? Concussions, knee injuries, discipline or what?
ACL's, concussions, and a broken leg. Odd year. Was just one of those freak things. We were down to Marcus Schnoor and Sam. Schnoor went down with an injury and Sam got to live his dream.

Simmons was back for the Cap One Bowl but yes, what a weird season. And what a great game. Led LSU for all but 2 minutes of the game until Jamarcus got the go-ahead TD late. Then the Tate-to-Holloway magic. KF completely owned Saban that day.

Just like the fake suspension of isu players last fall.

Ya, if the game starts with him sitting, and then it gets rained out, I would have no problem with him playing the second game.
As to your other point, go to any iowa forum, they spend as much time talking about ISU than any other team. The only difference is they start a new line every time, here they just keep the same one going.

Hell right now there is one going on about Pollard and his quote on the Yellow Jersey's, they suck by the way. So stop acting like one schools is better than the other. Both are fine institutions of higher learning. With the exact same academic standard to attend.

You guys are forgetting about all the times with old prune faced Fry, had the cops in his back pocket, and they looked the other way. Freerents had the starting DE punch out a cabby, and he still played in the bowl game, another player broke the wrong guys jaw and was allowed to finish the season and then transferred to UNI.

It goes on at both schools.

You're right. KF ordered the hit. Had nothing to do with said cabby using a racial epithet when speaking/referring to Clayborn.

It was never proven the Cabby did or said anything at all. But Iowa fans started making that excuse up right from the start. And even if the cabby did that does not excuse the Iowa player from hitting him.

No one said Freerents was involved at all, but he did allow him to play in the bowl game, I think his quote was "we will let the courts determine this." knowing full well by the time it worked its way through the court system the players season and career would be over at Iowa.

At first I was going to say, no way this disserves losing any time on the field. But it is his 2nd run in with the law, OWI the first time, and according to the ticket report, it was issued at 11:30, that would be an hour and half past the time he was suppose to leave. That is not finishing your soda and going home. So I would guess Freerents will make him sit a half of the first game. Mostly because its his second run in with the law. And no a speeding ticket would be totally different. Seems fair to me. You can be sure, he will be playing in the game when they come to Ames.

The ISU game is game 3 for Iowa. You really think he should miss 3 games for being in a bar after 10 PM?

Going off memory here:

Jermelle Lewis- Torn ACL
Albert Young- Broken leg
Marcus Schnoor- Torn ACL
Marques Simmons- High ankle sprain
Damian Sims- Pulled his RS, ankle injuries

That is literally what you typed. "Freerents had the starting DE punch out a cabby, and he still played in the bowl game."

I thought Schnoor got hurt early in the year.

I know Lewis blew his knee out on homecoming against MSU.

We also had to pull the RS off Sims towards the middle of that season.

Does Iowa bars have the over/under rule? Wanted ISU to have them when i was under age but now understand why it isn’t good.

No, I said half of the first game, but this is his second offense.
Iowa fans are always saying how they would never get away with the stuff that ISU players do, well here is your opportunity to show us all how its suppose to be handled with class.

Yes, but music venues get a pass when events are going on. I understand the law, but it just drove/drives kids to house parties.

It does put a bar at risk though. How many kids get their buddy to buy something for them especially buy a shot to dump into a pop? Had friends at UNI and they would just buy for me. Easier to just skip into a strictly over bar and then they wouldn’t look again.

So now the grammar police are here, Freerents starting DE punched out a cabbie. The lord and savor of Iowa football had no preknowledge of the event, but he sure as hell backed the player and did not suspend him for any playing time. I think the phrase was "handled in-house", and we will let the courts decide this issue.

Well honestly when I was underage I was in One eyed jakes with big ass X's on my hands and a pitcher of beer in those same hands constantly. Cops wouldn't even say a word, just walk right past. You aren't going to stop kids from drinking. I guess I would rather have them do it in a somewhat controlled environment of a bar, rather than some creepy frat brahs basement.

Then what was the point of this comment?

Of course Wirfs will play against ISU if he doesnt anymore issues this offseason.

My point was being his second offense, that according to rules followed by Iowa that should be a 3 game suspension. I think a half is more than fair, but Iowa fans like to be critical on how ISU reprimands its athletes, example being how it allowed 3 players to play in the Iowa game last year after the first game was cancelled.

So what is it over there in Eastern Iowa, just talk, or is he going to be suspended for 3 games for a second offense? I would think a half is fine, but I am not the coach.

Those damn steps at Jakes nearly got the best of me several times.

I'm sorry you don't have basic command of the English language. It wasn't a simple gramatical error. Your post conveyed that Kirk instructed AC to punch the cab driver. I was simply pointing out how stupid that sounded.
