Northwestern averaged more yards per game last year than San Diego State, Wyoming, and only 7 off of Hawaii. Iowa would have finished ahead of both Colorado State and New Mexico.

FCS top to bottom is bad lol. The bad teams in the FCS are horrible. UNI is not a bad FCS team though. At least they aren't projected to be. Who knows, they could end up being bad.

They did fine in the passing game. I'm not worried about their passing game though with our DBs. I'm also not worried about their running game either, as it was atrocious against Utah State. I'm more worried about our offense, and like you said, are we going to try and beat them at their own game or are we going to spread it out a bit? If we're going to try and stuff it down their throat, it's going to look a lot like 2021.
I think Campbell has learned that you have to bring a couple guys at their punter to not let him stand there for 4 second and then kick it. Make him catch and kick and he doesn't bury you as well. He's a good punter, but a lot of their punting success was not putting any pressure on him and the gunners are 15-20 yards downfield before the kick is off and the returner just abandons it then.
It always seems Simmons is good for a holding and motion penalty a game, and the holding is on a running play.
Yeah it'll be interesting to see how our special teams does on PR because it's obviously been atrocious in this game (crying while typing). I think we're going to be more aggressive like you said, and send more pressure while at the same time setting up a return scheme. As we said in the preseason, just catch the damn ball. That's all you gotta do. If Taylor hits some good ones, which he will, you just gotta tip your cap to the man, but you can't allow a bad play on punt return determine the outcome.

ISU was outgained by 29 yards yet ran only 45 plays compared to 72 for UNI. They got 2 interceptions, one of which was a pick 6 that eliminated a possession and dominated the special teams. They didn't need to gain many yards to score. They played with short fields. When you actually look at the numbers, it was a pretty dominat performance. Usually not something that happens against UNI so why not be confident.
