Cy-Hawk Game Discussion

I think it's probably 50/50 he actually finishes the game.
I wouldn't doubt it. If he's forced to run a couple of times and gets hit, it could be over for the day. What I'm actually worried about, and hope our guys are locked-in on, is that he's not going to take a hit. He's going to try and slide/dive so we can't come flying in and try and lay the wood because an ejection would certainly be called. I watched a scramble play where he got like 3 yards and then the sack he took where he took a dive before the contact. Certainly smart on his end, I'm just saying our guys gotta be smart.

That figure is a little misleading. 55 of their rushing yards came after they put their back ups in. They ran for 61 yards on 18 attempts against the first team defense for an average of 3.8. They still have a very good defense. Not as good as last year but it's very good.
Should have watched the game and not went off reported stats. I just can not bring myself to watch that damn team..

Which 5 of these 7 stadiums has he not played in? How do you avoid half the teams in your conference over 3 years?

Or is the point here that he didn't PLAY in those games?

  • Memorial Stadium (Illinois) – 60,670
  • Ross-Ade Stadium (Purdue) – 57,282
  • Memorial Stadium (Indiana) – 52,656
  • SHI Stadium (Rutgers) – 52,454
  • Maryland Stadium (Maryland) – 51,802
  • Hungtington Bank Stadium (Minnesota) – 50,850
  • Ryan Field (Northwestern) – 47,130
Was hurt most of 2022. Played mostly only in 2021 as the starter, including BTCG and CFP games.

I think people are overstating Cade's injury. Yes it will bug him, but he's not a mobile QB to begin with. His bigger concern will be his OL keeping everything else intact. They have a good TE in All but a bunch of mediocre receivers. We need to bring pressure often to make him get rid of the ball quickly.

He's not mobile, but this injury makes him even less mobile. I don't buy a word of Kirk's message in saying that they aren't going to be running bootlegs, but his lack of mobility does lessen his ability to do so. Not only that, but just getting injured during the game could be a likelihood.

He has not played at Illinois, Purdue, Indiana, or NW.

He has played at Michigan Stadium, Kinnick Stadium, Lucas Oil Stadium, Hard Rock Stadium and at PSU, MSU, Nebraska, Wisconsin, and the other three above.

So 11 total venues

Only thing im concerned about is Iowa getting pressure to our QB. If we can prevent that, and especially prevent them from getting pressure without blitzing, i feel good about our chances offensively as Rocco has shown a willingness to take what the defense gives him

It really didn't seem to affect his passing at all from what I saw. Need to really bring pressure to flush him out of the pocket.

He's much more mobile than Petras was.

If you brought pressure, McNamara was at least going to scramble and could pick up 5 yards.

If we bring enough pressure he won't be able to get away.

Come 2 hours early and don't you complain about it! :D

ill still be trying to park because of that sh*t show too
I just thought of this: For "some" who might be tailgating, could it be helpful to check in to the Jack quite early (when do gates open?), and then leave to return to your tailgate? And if so, would the "reentry" be smoother/quicker, closer to gametime?

I realize this would be quite a waste of time, yes. But might it save some time in line, closer to gametime?

As I think about it more, you'd prolly still be stuck in line, for "reentry". Unless they set another quicker line just for this (which they won't).
