CW POD: Is pro wrestling fun again?

I really liked AEW at launch but I'm just not into PWG with a budget.

They're also just flat not selling tickets domestically. They aren't going to go out of business because Tony is going to pump as much money as he wants to into it but the new TV deal is going to have a lot of bearing on what AEW is/will be.

I like the idea of AEW, and I like a lot of the people in AEW, but I just cannot get into it enough to watch it more than once every few months.

He is the only reason I tune into AEW anymore.

I mean, I have it on the TV but I'm not usually paying attention to it (usually paying more attention to what's on my computer screen. It's just when MJF started ripping Steiner Math it immediately caught my attention

Writer's strike even got The Rock to show up on Smackdown.
I don’t think any business has benefited more from the strike than WWE. Cena and Rock back now. Rock alluding to fighting at this upcoming WRESTLEMANIA.

And the best part is, no one is sad a writers/actors strike is even happening. Lets go!

Last night was brutal episode of raw. They snuff out the momentum Chad Gable was creating, more Nia Jax destroying the women's division and worst one of them all is Becky comes out with her newly won nxt women's title and open challenge to newer woman on the roster.

Thinking someone from nxt comes out or a recent call up but no we get 15 year old veteran Nattie to accept. Give me a break.

Wow - Adam Copeland DID go AEW.

I would have sworn he'd be a WWE lifer.

I think the opportunity to work with Christian was a big carrot to this happening.

Happy for him but very weird to see him in AEW. Not surprised he got to keep his music because it's done by a band so WWE doesn't own it. I am surprised he got to keep the Rated R Superstar moniker in AEW.

In the fastlane ppv press conference tonight which was in Indy a question was asked to Damage Control by our own Tyrese Haliburton.

That’s actually not why Adam Copeland got to keep his music: WWE had exclusive rights to it up until a couple of years ago when they let it pass. I think they were convinced his in-ring career was over… and then it wasn’t.

Just coming to bump this about that.

It was widely speculated but I'd never thought it would really happen.

Honestly... Vince for the most part out of the company at this point probably helped with this a lot. Not to mention, Paul Levesque the man in charge of all of what you see on TV now is a very different man than Paul "Triple H" Levesque was when he was an active pro wrestler - and the product you see on TV most nights speaks to that. And as he said during his press conference, it's been 10 years and everyone is vastly different than they were then, and since the fans want it, it was time to bring him home.

Is this going to work? I have no idea. For the last 10 years CM Punk is a man who has never been happy for long wherever he has landed, and who knows if this will be any different.

Been confirmed Drew immediately left the ring AND arena. Multiple videos show Seth being held back by Michael Cole with others blocking him while going after Punk. Rhea reportedly was flipping off Punk.

Also being reported the deal was signed this morning and MOST people in WWE, including talent, creative, and production, were unaware.

Was certainly a money move to sign Punk, but what will it do to the current roster?

just got done watching the replay. What was the point of that besides giving the hometown crowd a cheap pop?
