Getting ready for Custer's game to start. Fred walks in to the gym and the BVNW (Custer's school) students start chanting his name. He's here with Doc. I'll post my observations later.

First Half:

BVNW winning 50-16
This kid is the real deal
Custer's line by my estimation 20/6/5
Four or five steals including two breakaways
Excellent court vision
Takes his man off the dribble and finds the open shooters as well as I've seen
Good on ball defender
Can score and run offense equally well
Looks like he can play both PG and SG
Picked the right game to impress his next coach.
More after the game.

wait, 20/6/5 in your estimation in the first half, or is that your prediction for the end of the game? I'd also like to know what the level of competition is like..

That's pretty awesome that they know Fred. Excited to get Custer to Ames.

They played Blue Valley SouthWest.. and ran a continuous clock in the 4th quarter because they were up by 30 points. Final score of 78-37

BVSW is not very good..

Don't worry about the level of competition. He had 16 points against Tyus Jones earlier this year. Some worried about the same thing last year with Morris when he was putting up 25, 10, 10, 5, and 5.

Level of competition wasn't great. Those were his first half numbers. The starters sat in the 4th period. I'm guessing he finished with 28/9/7... something like that. He hit all his free throws. Probably 4-8 from 3pt. Kid has a great attitude. Looks like a good floor general/leader. He didn't force things with Fred and Doc watching. Very good passer and sets his teammates up well coming off screens for 3pt's which obviously works perfectly in our system. If there's anything that I could say he needs to work on is to put on some more weight and lateral quickness. He's going to be a good one.
