We are going to see a number of these quality guards that we have on our roster transfer in the next few years. I am sure of it! I vehemently disagree with the statement, "You can never have too many extremely talented guards." I wouldn't be shocked at all if SDW decides to transfer after this season--ala Antwon Oliver.
He's redshirting this year, so we wouldn't have an available RS year. He'd have to go to Juco or lose a year if he doesn't want to be a Cyclone anymore. I don't think he transfers, because I think he'll be good enough to get minutes.
Calm down. Transfers happen. It's better to have a player or two transfer when you're loaded with talent than when you're thin.
Now that GMac is gone, the people leaving won't be our top 1-2 players each season.
Now it would be nice to land one more talented big and a good wing by 2014
Our guards are going to be newborn baby deer next year. I think SDW is going to have his chance at seeing plenty of PT with different players making trips to the dog house, underage drinking, home sickness, and failing Math 165.

We're definitely all entitled to our opinions - heck, that's what message boards are all about. But, I can't for the life of me understand how you can be of that opinion when SDW is a true freshman and only 2 games into his collegiate career. Any speculation on his future is a "dart board" guess, at best!
Why? There is going to be all kinds of playing time available for SDW next year (when Custer is a high school SR).

I think we might have a transfer, however I am not sure who will transfer and the freshman class all likes it in Ames so far. That is what I am hearing. Also, every school has a transfer and it may be because they recruited someone better. So who cares. If we get a better player than we already have the the other guy transfers due to lack of playing time then so what. See ya. Good luck beating out players at the next school. It's the big leagues.
I just called the station (Metro Sports). They initially made the announcement with their Twitter account this afternoon. That tweet was apparently later deleted. The guy I just talked to said the announcement is still on for 7pm tonight. The person who sent out the tweet isn't there now, but he said he would have heard if the announcement was called off. Makes you wonder if there have been some late phone calls to Custer after the Metro Sports news.
