Current freshmen impact next season

Two games against terrible defenses and people want to crown Richardson already... I'm not saying he's bad, I'm just saying let's wait and see. Barnett looked good against Tech and Okie State last year, but look how he turned out so far. I like Sam and what he's been able to do already, I just think Rohach is better.
Looked good with his feet. Richardson has been looking good with his arm, which is far more critical to a QBs success.

This past 2012 class was the first time I started really following the recruiting at isu. This class is loaded with stars (take it for what it's worth) but definitley a lot of talent. That being said, I'm curious to see which players you think will hit the field next season and have an impact.

knott at weak side LB, rogers at safety, daley at WR (i hope he is as good as i think he will be), big dawg, daniel burton, aka... and why hasnt anyone been talking about damien lawry???

A walkon? You're picking a walkon to have an impact next year? And at a position where you usually need 2-3 years of development before you're ready to see the field, even if you're a scholarship player? You must be Fett's dad or something, but I don't think a redshirt freshman walkon OL is going to have an impact next year, especially with the players we have coming back on the line. And with the freshmen OLs we have coming in, he'd have to be pretty special to see playing time beyond next year.

He is -- Jango Fett.

completely agree with you BUT sam has moved the ball and put up alot of points, which the other 2 guys could not do no matter how good or bad the opposing D has been

Here's my guess:

Aka - Potential starter, sure two-deep player
Bevins - Rotation at DE
Burton - Not in 2 deep
Cousin - Rotation at NG
Daley - Second string, will see some PT.
Dunning - Not in 2 deep
Harris - Not in 2 deep
Knott - Starter at WILL LB
Lawrey - Not in 2 deep
Meyers - Rotation at DT
Mutcherson - Not in 2 deep
Netten - 2nd string K
Rogers - If he is staying, he will compete to start at CB. I think he can beat out Stokes and Lynn, Thomas and Richardson haven't done much to impress so far.
Rohach - Competition to start at QB, but I think SR beats him out
Seeley - 2nd string LB
West - 2nd string WR
White - 2nd string LB
Williams - 2nd string OL

Jantz looked pretty good against Baylor. I think if he played the whole KU game we still would have won by double digits. Only thing is he is way too inconsistent and turnover prone, hopefully Sam isn't.

The only players I have heard much about are Rohach, Bevins, and Big Dawg. These are all from one of the RS Fr themselves. Rohach has best arm of any QB but cant run.(baffles me as his recruiting tape showed otherwise) Bevins came in at 250 and had put on 30 lbs by October.(I see him at DT) Big Dawg may not be as good as we have hoped for but it is still his RS year so we will see.

I have always kind of expected Williams to need to wait till at least his RS SO year to be ready to really contribute due to his injury. I feel the same way about Quan West now.

richardson looked better than lynn IMO. isn't rogers gonna be a safety though?

Sam looks to be a good decision maker, quality passer, and exceptional runner. Having not seen Grant, I think Sam beats him out.

WRs Daley, Harris, and West could all do some damage as we are a little weak at that position next year. Look pretty reliable.

Everyone else is up in the air for me.

BTW: Everyone is really pulling for Knott at linebacker... hoping he's as good as Jake.

What makes you think Rohach is better? He may very well be. But unless you are in practice, you've seen him throw maybe 5 practice throws. You must be basing your opinion solely on the fact that Grant was an Elite11 QB

Frak, two things:
  1. Is Knott really ready to start at WILL after only one season playing LB on scout team? Or half that and half no quality depth? What about White and the other recruited LB's ahead of him?
  2. If you're going with Frak as your handle you should have a Far Scape character as your avatar since that is what made this the F word that gets past censorship. I'm thinking Rygel.

What was big dawgs injury? I know quan's ACL obviously but I thought I heard that another freshman was having knee problems. Big dawg seems like the real deal. I think he'll make second string next season. We won't hear much more about rohach until spring practices start, but I don't think theyll spend all of spring and summer camp without a clear cut starter. It's hard to tell just from a high school tape, but it looks like rohach will definitley give Sam a run for his money. As for knott, I wouldn't be surprised to see him start next season. He's got the build, and after a red shirt season of learning the ropes I'd be excited to see what he can do

I'd guess Knott, Seeley and White will all play next year, at least on special teams, but I think the starting LBs are locked down with Miller, George and Morgan (or maybe Broomfield, if he doesn't slide back to safety).
