Current Alabama MBB player charged with murder

I remember cousins, uncle's talking of back in the day they would go into town looking for a fight. Nothing serious......just a good ol fashion scrap.

Even my time...get into an argument and/or altercation, when it's done....everyone dust yourself off and go on. Not anymore.

I was trying to figure out how this thread turned political but I just figured it out reading your post. Gee, I wonder why "Not anymore".

Their coach has seemed pretty stand up in the past. I remember the spouse's cancer story.

Yeah and a coach can't be everywhere and know everything but I can't believe there weren't some previous things. On the other hand perhaps Oats was doing what he could to keep the kid on a path away from this kind of crap.

This is not on a coach. Heck any of our players could do something stupid and I’m not blaming TJ. It’s the follow up. Alabama seems to have checked every box so far. Off the team, scrub him from their websites, release a statement. Not like Baylor does where they hide it

Now just imagine if the coach got caught covering it up...then there was basically zero consequence for the program and they built Alabama into a national power in basketball winning it all. And in between that they had 50 cases of rape by the football program they also actively covered up and again had zero consequence.

I laugh when people get mad about SEC teams bending/breaking the rules. We have one B12 team that did AT LEAST all that I listed above and half this board lectures anyone who rationally points it out.
Drew started with nobody on the team, no preseason games, no post season games and reduced scholarships. I get your point about Baylor, but that was all pre Scott Drew and he built it up from basically nothing.

I read where he wasn't with the team on the 28th of December because of something other than an injury......then came back and was then ruled out because of an injury. Was on the bench their last game.

You may be correct but I can't imagine anyone saw this coming.

Just a curiosity: The suspect was ruled out for the remainder of the season the day before the incident occurred because of a season-ending ankle injury. Sounds like a pretty serious injury.

Yet in the OP's video it clearly shows him walking down the stairs after his arrest and over to the police vehicle without any help, without a limp, without crutches, without an ankle boot, without a cast. Hmmmm....did the severe ankle injury heal that fast or........?

I would be shocked if someone connected to the team didn’t know he possessed a firearm.

I read that he actually hurt his ankle in the preseason and has struggled to recover, hence his limited minutes and lack of production. They determined to just shut him down the remainder of the year Saturday.

That’s part of why I’m suspicious. And he could have started exclusively with certified saints, as could have the next fb coach, and it doesn’t nullify that the program went unpunished for rape and murder that was at best overlooked and much more likely sanctioned in the case of the mass rape.

Bama is a squeaky clean moral ethical saintly program compared to what Big 12 has in our ranks, even after this.

This deal is sort of like if Sam Mack was even stupider than he was instead of just robbery he would have killed someone. Bad choice by the kid. If he wasn't a BB player it would be just another stupid choice by someone that changed at least 2 lives forever.
