It would kill all the alt coins, but still won't make BTC anything special. ETH would lose a lot of trade volume if people aren't using it to buy other coins.
You said at least pirates were making money. Implying that others aren't. You are bad at crypto if you aren't making money right now.
Yeah ETH is still down 37% for the year, even after a 50% jump in the last month
I think you overestimate the power and reach of the US government. If they try to stifle innovation here in the US then it will just go overseas to more friendly territory. It is our best interests to have crypto friendly regulation, in my opinion.
Why would US regulation kill alt coins? You don't think US citizens would just invest in alts from overseas projects? I would and they are powerless to stop me.
lol. Nooo. ETH hits all time high; sell or short. Economy and Ukraine and stocks bad; sell or short. ETH hangs out at $1k too long and ETH 2 coming; buy. ETH goes from $1k to $1.7k in 2 weeks.... sell.
What's next... ETH 2 gets news of a delay; ETH goes down. ETH 2 really happens; ETH goes up. People with locked up ETH waiting on 2 release sell; sell before them.
Look what happened when China full-out banned it. They aren't the only major countries that are looking to ban it either.

yeah, it will definitely dump when the upgrade occurs. Happened to ADA not long ago.
China banned it so they could bring in their own crypto currency. The US isn't going to ban crypto. Some rules would be good so people aren't guessing and institutions have their guide rails.

Disagree. There is certainly innovation going on. If there wasn't, then why would top tech talent be moving to the web3/crypto space?
A sell, buy, sell in 8 months. That's like 8 years in crypto time. If you just buy and hold everything forever I'd hate to see your stock portfolio right now.
It's up significantly over what it was when I started. But I'm a long term investor.
Well if you invested in BTC or ETH on a long term horizon then you are either up a lot or up really big or up really really big.
If you don't see value in it then I wouldn't invest. I see it as disruptive and innovative, so I am long crypto.
